I have a question I like to ask all of you, while you're still online here before you enjoy the holidays:
"What was the BEST Christmas you ever had?"
I'll give you my mine:
My best Christmas ever was when I was 12 years old in 1994. My Dad's father, Leo, was living with us at the time. He even dressed up like Santa Claus. We had the christmas tree up and everything. Mom even made her famous christmas-tree cookies. And what I got for Christmas was a LEGO set I've been wanting for a long, LONG time: the 1989 "6285 Black Seas Barracuda Pirate Ship" - http://img3.toysperiod.com/img/cache/d6/800x600/q2k4z5... Ever since I first saw it in lego magazines & commericals, I've wanted to get my hands on it. I had the other pirate ship, the 6274 Carribean Clipper - http://www.classic-pirates.com/wordpress/images/2009/1... - but to me, that was just half-a-ship, with only one mass. I wanted the other - "The Big Red Pirate Ship," as I called it, because it was a true pirate ship compared to the other I had. But I never got it. I wished that I could own it. Then, on Christmas Day of 94, when I unwrapped the present wrapping and saw the boxset, and saw the picture of the ship's red & white stripe sails on it, I was like a kid in a candy store. I felt like I hit the million-dollar jackpot. I felt like Raph in "A Christmas Sotry" when he got his BB Gun. I was practically hugging my parents and saying "Thank you! Thank you!" My dream came true! The Black Seas Barracuda was mine!
That Christmas was one of the bests I had as a kid, and it was one of the last Chrisrtmas I would have with my Grandpa Leo before he died in 1999. I miss him very much to this day, and was glad he was with us during that time. At that time, my family felt complete.
So now you heard my story. What's yours? What was your favorite or best christmas ever? Was it with family? Was it with friends? Was it resent or when you were a kid? Did you finally get the one thing you've been asking for for years? Or did you give someone something that made you feel warm and ahppy inside?
Tell me your tale. Like Raph did in the classic movie, tell me your "Christmas Story"...
