To answer the post's title, life happened. My project is dead now... but only because real life has been awesome lately.
To make a long story short, I've had to move for a new job- because I got hired by an actual game studio. No, I'm not going to say which one and link this to my real identity, but it's the real deal. With some luck, a lot of you will be playing my handiwork at the end of this dev cycle, just without knowing it.
Maybe I'll revisit this some day, but there's a world of difference between working a shitty day job and making a game by night, and going from making one game during the day and making another one at night... never mind that my employment contract means that I could technically get fired for working on another game at the same time, even if it's just a freeware hobby project.
I'll still be around here, and I might be posting some other, non-game stuff once I get into the rhythm of my new job.
Thank you all for your interest, even if I can't deliver like I planned- although I can promise what I'm making now is even cooler.
