Smartphone users beware

More corporate spying on unaware customers...

Makes me glad I still use a ten year old laptop.

And the bad news is you can't opt out of this one.

That article brings to mind these lyrics from the song 1000 Eyes by the band Death:

To the left and to the right
From behind - they're out of sight
Plunging into a new found
Age of advanced observeillance
A worldwide, foolproof cage

Privacy and intimacy as we know it
Will be a memory
Among many to be passed down
To those who never knew

The lyrics to this song were written in 1995. The internet was still rather new for the average citizen. The late Chuck Schuldiner (founder of the band Death) saw what was coming.

It just blows my mind every time we catch one of them pulling this nonsense, two more rush into replace the ones we catch.

We need an example made in the courts to truly discourage these intrusions of privacy.

Hopefully a group of lawyers with shark teeth that stand for full freedom and privacy will be the ones to do it.

One of the reasons why this kind of crap has been happening is because of the nitwits that have been giving up their guns and other freedoms. They did that falling for the disguise of it'll help make the country a better and safer place by doing so. Add to this what the self appointed "Pleasure Police" have been doing to try to get the net censored because our kind enjoy what they hate.......it just ticks me off.

Isn't it usually the ones who want to keep their guns that push for more of this type of thing?  The 'Pleasure Police' seem more of the Tea Party/NRA mindset.

The article seems to be about an Android app, not an iPhone thing.

Oh, like iPhone, with its 'closed source' setup would not put this in as part of a mandatory 'firmware update.'  You know the ones, "You may choose not to install this update, but if you do not install, your device will no longer be compatible with some features such as text messaging, outgoing calls, and incoming calls."

I love it when people go "Eh, I don't care. I have nothing to hide." ~_~;
