An End to Agalloch

I was recently informed by a friend that Agalloch, one of my favorite metal bands, had split up. While I respect the decision of John Haughm and fellow band members to part ways after all these years, I was certainly disappointed by the news. When I had first discovered Agalloch back in college, I was amazed by their talent. It was unlike any previous style of metal I had heard. Their music also helped introduce me to neofolk, which I immediately came to adore. Each album they produced was special and everyone I listened to had songs I will never forget, thanks to their unique sound. At this time, the future of Agalloch is unclear. If their decision of splitting up is indeed final, let it be known that the band will truly be missed by many fans. Agalloch might have come to an end, but their great music will never be forgotten.

Aw. Hard when musicians call it quits.
I dread the day Azgorh calls Drowning the Light off and hangs it up

It's a good thing I own almost all of Agalloch's discography. I bet prices are going to go up on their stuff.

Yes usually does for a little while. People will make a grab for the must have albums.

I have pretty well all of the full lengths and split compilations from Drowning The Light.
A few in first batch A5 digis.
Got an original print of DTL's debut full-length "Drowned".
Going for triple digits in some places as it is now x.x

reminds me of how i felt when i heard that immortal split up..... then it turned out that abbath just left for a solo thing...... which kinda worked out cause now its like there are TWO immortals.... with demonaz back on guitar i would imagine immortal will go back to style similar to their early work with him on guitar.... and abbaths solo project will continue where the more recent immortal left off....

still sad to lose an artist you like though......
