Pretty darn sick, but not dead.

Two days ago

Minnesota is a beautiful place; a very, very cold place.

I woke up as an icicle covered in fur buried himself under the covers between me and my wife.

It was so comfortable earlier that we had shut off the heat and just enjoyed the silence for a while.

We both fell asleep...

I realized what had happened as my cat snuggled his frosty little body against me, a plume of white from my frozen breath making a cloud in the air.

What started as a cough turned into a sensation like someone ripping a scab off, but inside my lungs.

My cat is currently enjoying my immobile state - ensconced in pillows and blankets, high on medication.  I think he's trying to heal me through the power of purring.

Purring does accelerate healing.  You should try it.  It also strengthens bones.  Hope you don't have pneumonia.

Trying to purr would suck right now.

Bones?  Really?

I had walking pneumonia as a kid, and I remember this body engulfing pain...I dont THINK it's pneumonia,  but it's definitely in my left ear, throat, and lungs.  I did the hydrogen peroxide followed by alcohol into the ears in everyone's favorite way to find out if they have an ear infection too.  The fire inside my ear tipped the indicator to 'yep'.

Yep, the vibrations from purring actually strengthen the cat's bones, and promote healing. It's apparently one of the reasons they can so often survive falls from great distances.

It seems to be more severe in my lungs.  How I feel tomorrow morning will be the deciding factor (now that all forms of first aid are exhausted).  It'll just be a matter of finding a clinic (here on business).

You should take care of that. Just because you feel a little better doesn't mean it's over.
A cousin of mine had a cold and he ignored it because he wanted to enjoy the holidays. It was pneumonia and he ruined everyone's holidays with his funeral.
