So I was supposed to write this yesterday but better late than never.
I am officially a Nanowrimo winner!!!
Here are the things I've learned from Nanowrimo:
1. Don't skip around. If you know a scene's going to be in your novel then go ahead and write it but otherwise writing your story out of order is disorienting.
2. If you're going to write about something that you have no knowledge of, make sure to actually research it. Thoroughly.
3. Make sure your schedule is fairly busy. If you have all day to write your word quota, then, if you're like me, you'll probably procrastinate. But not too busy, otherwise you'll tear your own hair out.
My "novel" is a piece of shit but it's more than 50,000 words so that counts for something. I'll make sure to post it once I've edited and improved it. In the meantime, I'll start working on a few shorter stories and hopefully start posting those once finals are over.
Thanks for the support!
