After all those years i've spent on internet forums, and sometimes at 4chan, this doesn't look too far off from how a typical troll would behave, this possibility is only made stronger by the fact it's an online chat where both ends end up being anonymous.
But eh, you never know, sometimes even the most obvious "troll" can be an actual legit person. Just shrug it off, i'd say, it's one of those rough bumps on your life you can just learn from. The internet is a place where people often show their badside without much consequences anyway (at least, in cases where no illegal actions are involved).
