I'm making progress on my On-Job Training and I learned a lot from the company on how to compare a standard ingredient to a same type of ingredient but with a new formulation, sensory test and a peek at their new recipes with us, the trainees, having a look at the finished product.
Two weeks before, I was assigned in the warehouse for a week. It's one big place where they store all their dry goods and others. Once I inspected a box of spaghetti noodles and I found many defects and it has to be replaced. The other one is where I list all of the ingredients in the cold room.
I really enjoy the cooking part. We take part on making a brand new food product by arranging the ingredients and let our supervisors do the rest. It's like a sneak peek. Today I learned on how to shape the dough and I did it well on my very first try and for tomorrow, we'll be going to the cold warehouse where all heat sensitive products are stored in there.
I can still remember the part where we compared the standard liquid smoke and a new liquid smoke. Yes, it exists and that is one strong stuff in smell.
