You know, it's really tough to be one of the few furs, if not people in general, that can look at anything and accept it for what they are. What do I mean by this? Give me a picture or video of the one thing that you absolutely despise. My reactions will vary from interesting concept, very detailed, holy crap, nice, or cute...to say the least. But never will I go on a mindless tangent about what or why this was made. Or as I call it the "I'm leaving / don't like / no longer accepting / no longer drawing (insert site or subject here) because of some whacked ass ridiculous reason" journal. Seriously. I can have a shopping list of fads, groups, and types of artwork and I can give you a general "reason" on why they hate it. Here's a few off the top of my head before getting to the obvious ones.
Trekkies - A group of federation space explorers on a crappy ship/station stuck on a/returning to the single quadrant while the other badass and prideful species can easily destroy them. Their only saving graces are Q and Seven of Nine
Star Wars - Dark vs. Light, "I have a bad feeling about this." cheap ass lightning air pushing and insta-kill rave swords and of course "NNNNNNNOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!" Then you have meaningless back story to the inevitable and crappy CGI cartoons and 3D remakes so that old fat bastard can get more money.
Anime - Pathetic english dubs with over estrogen titty filled high school girls, hormonal steroid using buff guys or the sleek merto- but very homosexual guys that every girl in real life middle school up seem to fall for. Especially when they kiss. And don't get me started with the perverted otaku creeps and their hentai.
DnD/Ren Fare - Bunch of nerds that pretends to be warriors, mages, and barbarians venturing some made up town or forest or dungeon to fight a mythical creature by using forty different types of dice. PEOPLE ACTUALLY WASTE MONEY TO BUY THEIR GARB AND WEAPONS!
Mobians - Hardcore diehard fans of the ever so retarded Sonic the Hedgehog to where everybody is a recolor of a character and pretend that they are original so that they can get it on with the truly original cast. It's people like them that made the entire franchise plummet to it's inevitable demise.
Furries - More nerds that fantasize themselves being animals that stand and boink each other and get art for it. PEOPLE ACTUALLY WASTE MONEY TO BUY THIER FICTIONAL CHARACTER MASCOT SO THEY CAN BE FUCKED IN IT!
Bronies - Even more nerds that center their whole life to this crappy flash cartoon with so many mistakes that Teletubbies seem watchable that fap to ponies that focuses on little girls. I think Pedo Bear made some new friends. PEOPLE WASTE MONEY TO BUY LITTLE GIRL'S TOYS!
Porn - Seeing genitalia being abused in so many ridiculous ways just to see some white stuff come out so that you can fap off to get the same result. It's not even worth drawing because it's so disgusting to look at and it makes me look like a pervert.
Cubs/babyfurs - Furries depicting themselves to be little furry characters in diapers or corduroys to the point where they wear the exact same thing. There's even porn of it to the point of watersports and scat. People like that are sick and need serious help and those that draw them should be considered pedophiles.
Gore/Vore - People getting a fascination of people eating and mutilating other people so that they can get a rise of seeing and wrapping themselves in the victims organs. This makes me want to gag and call the national guard on them and.....
Do you see that I mean about these stupid ass reasons that have absolutely no merit if they're going to quit or leave a site or fandom or stop drawing all together? What will that accomplish? Why can't they simply look at it, accept it or ignore it and go about their business? Then again, that would be asking too much I guess. So in closing I give those that hate these and many more subjects something that can easily be remembered. *Ahem*
These fads and types of artwork will never go away and will not die no matter what the hell you do. You can block, you can erase, you can leave or never draw again. But no matter how you slice it, you are going to view it again one way or another. So why not go to the store, get a ten dollar pair of sunglasses, put them on your head and simply deal with it.
And before the pot and kettle comes to reply, this entire rant is the only peeve that I have. The sheer intolerance of just simply leaving fads and styles of art alone or respect them for what they are or what they draw and not make it publicly known that they hate them. Especially those that already made a positive name for themselves.
