Assassins Creed and stuff....

by
So I'm back home on the island and back to work, struggling to get through the last semester of college I'll have to endure here. I really do wish I was still stateside, but it made a whole lot more sense to come home than it did trying to limp from paycheck to paycheck stateside.

IN ANY CASE I'm back drawing as you can see and you can see my (semi) complete project list if you visit my bloggy thingy here: http://scapponess.blogspot.com/p/current-projects.html

Now, concerining Assassin's Creed 2. I have two words for you, and you probably already know what they are if you've played the game.

FUCKING.

AWESOME.

Assassins -Vs- Templars. Come one people...that's an even better rivalry than Pirates vs. Ninjas. Or Ninjas vs. Samurai.

Okay, so the religious stuff in it is complete and utter crap obviously, but the story idea is damned brilliant. It's so brilliant that some of the puzzle stuff is honestly believable. Scary believable...I mean, the pieces of Eden are obviously fictitious, but they incorporate that little maguffin into known pieces of art so well that it forces you to think "hey...I wonder why Napoleon's holding his hand inside his jacket like that"...and "hey! Is that what really happened to Cain after he was banished from Eden?". The game takes advantage of the fact that there are more holes in the Bible than in a cheese grater, and inserts its own "truth" into the mixture. This is the first time I've ever seen a game do that. And the result?

Pure, unadulterated awesome that I haven't been able to put down since I popped the game into the XBox. I should be drawing...really...I should be....but I can't seem to put this game down. It's....just so...addictive....

I must admit that money in the game becomes largely useless after a certain point, (similar to Fable2), and I'm hoping they fix that shiz with AC3. Because it's silly to insert money into a game without constantly giving the player a reason to spend it in large quantities (not just potions, poisons and crap). I hope that you're able to actually own and administrate more than just your own city in the next one.

But yeah, I know I'm so totally freaking late to the AC party...but with the third one coming out I hope I'm just in time for the afterparty.

*goes off to play some more...*

Wait! I should be drawing......ffffffffffuuuuuuuuuuuuuuu-

The religious tones in AC2 wasn't a mistake. ^_^;; Can't say more because I don't wanna spoil it for you. =3

Assassin's Creed Brotherhood looks really good now too. I thought it was going to be crap but after seeing it in action I friggin' can't wait to play it! =D

Already beat that one.. and yes. The story is quite awesome. ;D Not that I didn't love the game-play,  but I was sold on that in AC1, which doesn't hold a candle to AC2. :3
