A little teaser for my new story. The story is called B.E.N..here is a little taste of it so far....
Logan the main hero of the story has bought a game..and he is loading it up now...
Slowly the opening scene of the game rolled up onto the TV. The text read as follows..
“The darkness of the night blanketed the streets of Narrows Landing. The cold rain fell on the pavement and dripped from the roof tops and overhangs like eyes dark and full of sadness. You find yourself dashing between buildings, looking for refuge from the water. It was late and you were tired, you have been on the road for weeks, and just needed someplace to sleep.
You had come close to resigning yourself that again the street and alleys would be your room and any boxes you could find would be your bed, when the low glowing light of marque caught the corner of your eye. You squinted through the rain and saw Lavender House Inn. It had no signs saying if it had rooms to let or not, you decided to try, any place was better then where you were.
As you approach the Inn, it looks broken down and seedy. You hesitate for a moment, second guessing your decision to enter the Inn, when a clap of thunder and brilliant flash of lightning persuaded you to enter the Inn's front doors.” The screen flashes up the look for a very elaborate front lobby of an Inn, red carpets line the floor, a large staircase, marble pillars and clean red velvet covered chairs and couches sit in the left side of the lobby, filled with people who are smoking and drinking what look like elaborate drinks from cut glasses, to the right sits the the Inn's front desk, where a well groomed and well dressed clerk stands awaiting for you to approach him. You approach the desk.
“Good evening sir.” The clerk says.”How may we be of your assistance today?” As normal the hero of the story never talks, The clerks just nods as if having some unheard conversation with you. “Yes LOGAN, We can centrally put you up for the night, It's not fit for Beast or man out there tonight..We only have one room left, Room 3122a.” And as if by some que, the talking and noises in the hotel lobby, stop. Not even the sound of breathing can be heard, dead silence.
This part of the game always gave Logan the chills.
“May I get the bell hop to show you to your room Mr.LOGAN?” The man behind the desk asks you..a screen pops up with YES or NO..Logan selected YES..the clerk nods and the screen changes to the key board, and you see him pick up the key, marked with 3122a..the ring has an old skeleton key on it. The next screen you see, is the hallway as you follow the bell hop towards your room, you turn a corner, and the bell hop stops. He turned to you.
“Your room is the last on the far left. Here is your key sir. I go no future from this point. No tip needed. Rest well..” and the bell hop leaves you without another word or even letting you ask why he won't take you right there.
You get to your room, and put the key in the lock, you turn it, and hear the click of the tumbler unlocking the door. You turn the knob and push the door open, unsure what you expect to see..the room is normal, Bed, desk, mirror, etc..you enter the room and sit on the edge of the bed. Then it hits you..as you were walking down the hall, all the doors had key card locks...this was the only one with a skeleton key. You get up off the bed and the door slams shut..you jump and you run over to the door and try to open it..it's locked..and won't open...you run to the phone and pick it up, you dial 0 to ring the front desk. The phone rings, one...two....three....four....five.....six...”Thank you for calling the front desk..if you need assistance..” and the phone went dead...
At this point the game gives you control, and Logan noticed that now he was sitting on the edge of his sofa..
