I've loved and lost before. It's a needless and harmful thing... love.
If it hurts so much though, why do we covet it so?
It's not that love hurts... but that love gets you close enough to be hurt. You love someone so much that whatever they do matters to you so much... that if they decide you're no longer worth their time, then it crushes your soul.
Love is a soulful connection to another person. Someone you adore so much you feel you are both as one. So when they do something harmful, it's like you're destroying yourself.
"Why would you do that to me?"
No, why would I do this to myself?
No matter where I've visited, what country I've gone to, love looks and feels the same. It's what happens around and with that love that changes from person to person.
Some people decide that they will have only that person, and will expect nothing less. A monogomy.
Some people understand that you can love more than one person, and finding a person that would love both of you would only empower your souls further. A polygomy.
Some people show their affection with hugs, kisses, tenderness, warmpth, cuddles... care and romance.
Some people don't fully understand their feelings, and may push the one they love away... because humans do not like to be trapped in something they did not decide, and sometimes love decides for us... a revolutionary.
Others wish to show that love cannot control them. That they are the ones in control, and will brutishly punish the object of their love... and be called monsters... but perhaps they do not understand their own misunderstanding.
The list can go on, but in the end, it's that one four letter word.
Love.
