-Holy shit, conventions are fucking hard-
I think that is what I can say having staffed a first year furry convention last weekend. Furry Migration, for those that dont know, is the Twin Cities (Minneapolis/St. Paul) area furry convention and last Sunday we wrapped up the last day of the first convention ever. I injected myself into the staff list about two months or so when they tried to pull Cyrus in last minute to handle the Video Games section when the first person had to drop out for RL reasons.
Honestly I had a lot of fun staffing, but was so busy I didn't have time to do... well much of anything. In the end I had to help run Videogames, Artemis (the starship bridge simulator), and handle issues with the hotel room while making sure several other staffers got food. It was chaotic, stressful as anything else I had ever done in my life, and amazingly fun. That being said it wasn't until Wednesday that I could think or process anything having so completely exhausted my mental capacity.
Still, with a few fixes and modification, I hope they will have me back as staff again next year. Truly its amazing how much can go wrong and unexpected while still making it an amazing showing to the outside world. Hope once pre-registrations open some of you will come to our Furry Migration 2015! ^.^
-Other convention plans-
At this point I would like to go to Midwest Fur Fest but have no idea if I can make it. I have no room, might not be available for the weekend, and still need to buy a membership. Seriously though, having had Furry Migration under my belt as staff just makes me realize how much.... convention I missed out. No time to look through artists, go to panels, or just hang out with people. If I can go to MFF, which some of my non-local friends will also be attending, I would like to think that will be my first real furry convention attending.
That having been said, I am still skeptical I can even go but I can dream cant I?
-How to Milk Your Dragon-
Issue #3 is wrapping up on SoFurry, Inkbunny, and Weasyl. After that is done and I have thrown OmegaLTD a nice wad of cash it will be time to work on Issues #4 & #5. The script for four is pretty much done with work on the last issue already underway.
As I have said before I will not be paying out of pocket for these issues, they will be funded entirely through donations. I am open up to ideas of how to run this, but essentially each issue is a bit under 200 bucks as is... for 350 or so I could do an issue full color. Essentially I would like to, after I finalize the script and can calculate costs, set a kind of kickstarter for the project. At $180 (just a wild guess) Issue #4 would be funded... at $350 Issues 4 & 5 would be funded. Then we can have stretch goals adding full color to the issues, adding extra pages, or funding future projects.
What do people think?
-Writing Projects-
Yah, its taking for ever for the last part of my story to be done. Its pretty much done but I need to re-write a few of the last sections for flow and readability. I already have started work outlining both the prequel and sequel to the story. One showing in detail why Jesper left Amaranth and life in the LNAW. The other shows Jesper as a senior medical officer a few years in the future. It also gives a bit of background and starts pushing elements of both the Stellar Federation and League of Non-aligned Worlds out of a strict psudo-cold war mentality. It then goes directly into the Starfist story arc that Chakat Deirdre exists in.
-RP plans-
Today I am just getting back into doing RPs with people and stories with others. Sorry for the several weeks to months of not being to available. As I got closer to the convention I had less and less time... and the convention just fried my brain for several days. I am getting back in touch with everyone over the coming days and will resume as best I can as I check in with everyone.
-Commissions-
No, I am still not taking commissions, you dont want me to do that. Instead I am referring to the art from Dice I am getting. The first commission is done, a cute one of their char and Deirdre together with a second one quickly coming down the pipe. I already have a list of... perhaps 40 more I am going to have with people that will be done over the next few years. People I used to have as mates/pets/friends dont be surprised if I give you a poke in the coming months seeing if your interested in getting a picture or something of us together (clean to NSFW). There are just so many pieces I am owed I am having trouble finding ideas so I am going back on sentimentality to capture long lost moments.
I dont mean to be creeping people out or stalker-ish about it. So sorry in advance if it comes off that way to a few.
