Me: Writing Stories, Doing Tarot. You: Helping with $$.

by
Just an update on anyone who is interested:

First of all - I am not looking for handouts. I may not be the fastest in returns, but I am treating all money that is given to me as a contractual commission, one way or another. It's just commissions in which the money is all going to my sister (minus paypal fees).

Why? Because she was diagnosed with uterine cancer in March, did chemo and radiation, and it didn't work. So either her bladder, colon, entire sexual tract (including her vagina) is being removed, and she's going to have a colostomy bag for the rest of her life (she turned 25 in June), or she's dead. I need money to help her in either case, because the surgery is expensive, and if she's dying, I want to help her enjoy her last year or two.

That said, if you are at all interested, here are some ways you can help, all of which I appreciate.

- Commission Me -

      - Quickie, one scene or so stories (mostly just attempts at something quick for you to fap to) are $5.
-Full length stories (See Stream Lining for example) are $10.
      - *NEW!* Tarot readings, I have no idea what to charge for. I never have and don't really like the idea of receiving money for them, but in this case, I'm not receiving the money, it's my sister, so I'm okay with that. Those are totally donation based - so if you want one and don't have the money for it, I can still do one for you. I can do them over AIM, or through notes/email, I just need to have an aspect of you to focus on while I shuffle them for you. I can even stream them, if you want.
      - Buy Votes or Story Ideas - if you don't have a real rush but would like to see a story in my "Vote what Charn Writes Next", you can do that! In fact, anyone who doesn't want a comission or reading or basically doesn't tell me what they want if they send money now, is getting an equivalent number of Charn bucks(c) (Don't worry, I keep good track of things like this), which can be redeemed for comissions, extra votes, or story ideas (basically requests) at a later time.

Other ways to help:
       - If you would like to donate a charity story or picture, you are not obligated but if you would like to try, I would be appreciative. I'm not sure how to compensate you for that, so if you want to do that, please let me know what you are interested in. I do have a swap thing planned (or did) for this fall which involves a few people getting presents for free, maybe we could do that if you are not interested in things from me directly. If you need the money too, maybe I could pay you for a base comission and then auction it off myself for the slot or something, so that you get paid and the extra can go to the fund? I'm completely open to ideas, please let me know if you have any.

     - :iconCheetahLover:  is hosting a charity auction, where you can Bid on what happens to a dog! If you want to see a dog neutered, bid on it! and if you DON'T want to see a dog neutered, because of morals you apply to imaginary beings, this is your chance to put your money where your mouth is and comission something GOOD happening to the dog! Like a big bone covered in gravy! That's not a euphamism!

If you would like to repost the journal, I am appreciative of the thought. I don't want to be a pest about it, I'm not the kind of person to go around asking for favors. that said, something just as important would be just, if you pray or believe in god or human will power or anything like that, to just put some good strong thoughts towards her. Her name is Kristi, Charn's Sister. That should direct it to the right entity.

If you want to look at what she's going against, the cancer is called "Adenosquamous Carcinoma". It's a very rare form of cancer, in that while most cancer cells are either "squamos", meaning they are on the cells that line organs, or glassy cell, meaning that they are part of glands, this one is both. It's agressive, it's resistant, and there's (right now) no guaranteed program on treating it because it's rare. Part of the problem my family is having is the feeling the doctors are more interested in tryign experimental techniques to see what works (to gain more information about the cancer) then in just trying to kill it. There's no REASON to think that, but it's (I think) a normal reaction to what's going on. Every test takes w3eeks to get feed back on, and then another test is scheduled for more weeks. IT feels like they WANT it to develop to see what happens. Again, that's probably not true.

The other thing that is bothering us is that we live near Fort Detrick, Maryland, where both USAMRIID and also the National Cancer Institute. Right now, the county government is investigating into what appears to be a 'cancer cluster' - that is to say, statistically speaking the rate of cancer in Frederick, MD (where we live) is supposedly three times higher than the national average, and one and a half times higher than the counties around us. So we don't know if this is normal cancer or "gubbament cancer".

Sorry for laying it all out in the open for everyone to look at, it's not murry purry.

I am very very sorry to hear about what is happening for you and your sister.  Sadly I'm far from capable of donating at this point in time, but I will post a journal leading people this way.  Hopefully you can get at least a little help.

Sadly, I am short on money, and wish I could help, but till I can get work I can't give much help. Though a tarot reading does sound cool to get, as the only other person I knew refused to read friends for fear of what may be revealed, but I'd not feel right not at least giving a donation for it.

As for the way you are feeling with the doctors, that is the problem with society today, shows like CSI and House M.D. and other medical/crime shows, make people think it takes hours to get results. A good simple test might take hours, but usually can take a day or more, and for things like this, it can take weeks to do. But, you aren't wrong in your thinking, a lot of time, medically, there is a lot of "lets wait to see what happens" going on. And to the patient, you feel like a lab rat, a number on a paper, one of hundreds being pricked with needles, tested to see if you live or die, so the doctors can just get results, to use later on other lab rats.

I have long since stopped trusting medical profession fully, which solves all answers by throwing pills at it in my mind. "Depressed? Have some pills! Oh, and you think you are healthy? This chart says you are obese so have some pills and get off your ass more often!" But really, they are there to help, but their form of help is based on what little they know, and the fact that one symptom, say, cold clammy hands and headaches, literally can be one of 20 different sicknesses, or even two separate symptoms from two out of 30 sicknesses, most rare or thought no longer existent outside of a CDC lab; and doctors naturally, have to assume it is some of the most common ones. There is a saying in medical field, "When you hear hooves clopping, it's probably a horse and not a zebra." Or "If you hear hoof beats, don't think zebra, its probably just horses." The meaning in other words, the simplest answer is probably the best one. In trying to see all possibilities, by over-complicating an issue, the truth or answer can be obscured.

I normally trust doctors, wether they are overpriced or not. But I jus can't help but feel that they have the believe that if they actually beat the cancer, she would stop being their patient, which means they would stop getting more money. So capitalistically, it makes sense NOT to cure diseases, as you lose money in the long run. Obviously that wouldn't be a factor with a set group of patients (like a family doctor), but in the case of franchise hospitals with government programs and stuff, what's to say there isn't a priority of money first, health second?

I am really into medical area, many people have said I'd make a wonderful Vet/Doctor/Psych before with my mind, but with those, I feel that way, that doctors rather give something to deal with the problem, just mask it, but not 'cure' it. Really, medically, we could look into cures, but there is no profit in cures, so instead focus on things to just mask it. Really, who can say, realistically there is little to no profit for some one getting better, and as wrong as it is, it can really feel like doctors rather draw out out a patents pain to get profit till they die.
