Taking a break

So after my last journal (which I deleted) about commissions taking a bit longer, I decided to think about it and I think it's time I take a break. I've been trying to work on commissions as much as I can but I just can't anymore, I feel like everything I draw sucks and I seriously hate it right now. I don't want this to affect the quality of my commissions so best thing is to just take a break.
I'm thinking of taking a 2 week break so that I can just clear my head, get the move over with, settle in my new apartment and come back with a better mood, and better drawings.

If you commissioned me and don't want to wait, then I totally understand and even though I can't give out refunds at this time we can arrange something through PMs.

I will still be posting personal art (sketches) to see if I can get rid of this stupid mood, and work on some commissions, but I can't guarantee any improvement or actual drawings getting done.

Yeah...

Click.

Also, I'll still be online and such, just not drawing.

Said it before, say it again, y'all must find balance with the Force.  And by force, I mean muse.

If you draw/write/compose for the sheer fun of it and/or to practice and improve your skills, your art is a hobby.
If you draw/write/compose for money, your art is a job.

Every artist must find their own balance for how much paid work they take on.  Too much, and you burn out - this is especially true of artists who go pro.  When this happens, you need to take a break, and when you return to your art, don't jump right back into commissioned work.  Do stuff for yourself, even if just doodling scraps you never post.  Play around with your work until you re-find the enjoyment you once had doing it, and then, if you do decide to go back to commissioning your skills, take it slow.  Don't jump back into it feet-first, or you'll just overload yourself once more.

Yea, seems you've been burned out. Art takes a looooot of mental power to do, no matter that caliber and level-of-skill of the artist. after a time, the brain just fizzles and melts and needs a good ol' recharge.

Rest well, and hope you come back stronger than before. :3

I feel the same way about a lot of writing. So take all the time you need, kick up your feet have a drink and relax. Sometimes all you need is some R & R.
