My Top Twelve Most Used Phrases and Idioms (According to my Friends)
I was hoping this would form some sort of mnemonic, but alas~!
12. " 'Twas... " - Contraction of 'it was'.
11. "Ah, gotcha." / "Duly noted [and embroidered]."
10. "Habetahbuh. Wha-... Whaaa?" - Action exclamation used during periods of utter astonishment.
9. "There isn't enough [X] in the universe to [Y]." - x = noun, y = verb.
8. "Indubitably." / "Indeed."
7. "I'm about [X]% done with you right about now." - x = percentage.
6. "How about [X]" - Usually x = no / never.
5. "This... This is what my life choices have wrought."
4. "I [X] you, ya [Y]." x = synonym for love, adore, y = insult, pejorative term.
3. "Oi vey." / "Vey."
2. "Ah jeez..." / "Oh jeez."
1. "Lord have mercy [on your soul]." - Last part is usually omitted, reserved for times of duress.
