Archery: I need to finish making my arrows. I dont like retrieving only 4 from the target after each round.
Bow: 9 kg (20 lbs) Beginner
Arrows:
1 beginner - Wood - 78cm
Arrow that came with the beginner bow, broke the other. They are weak but pack a bit more punch than the carbon composite due to their weight.
2 intermediate - Carbon composite - 74cm
$5 individual arrow. By far the most accurate and durable of my arrows, but lack penetration due to light weight and shorter draw on the bow.
5 custom - Wood - 122cm
I nicknamed them Killer arrows. My arms are not long enough to draw them all the way back, which is okay, they are the fastest meanest arrows. Homemade from the ground up, they are heavy and sink the deepest into the target occasionally going through the target. They are a pain to make as the doweling I buy is never garunteed "straight as an arrow" the fletching is whatever we have on hand. Usually paper, or folded over packing tape. But it doesn't matter, these arrows are deadly even without a metal tip, and fired from a 9 kg bow.
I love archery and I really wish there was a place I could legally practice that was free and in a feasible distance.
I'm really looking forward to getting my next bow... whenever the time may be that I can actually afford it.
