Music requests!!

Hey you guys. After like...a year of owning an iPhone (and 6-7 years of owning an i-device), I think it's high time I finally got around to putting some music on this bitch. Morning commutes are really, really boring. Listening to the Unsheathed furry podcast is all well and good, but sometimes I'm too tired to devote any mental energy to absorbing what they're saying.

The kinds of things I'm looking for:

- chip tunes
- video game music (any generation)
- memorably awesome TV/movie music (ie. Pokemon themesong)
- musically viable, cool stuff, generally instrumental only (virtuosity, think Cliffs of Dover)
- GOOD j-pop
- in general, good music of any genre that distinguishes itself either by lyrics, musical intricacy, instrumental virtuosity, or just plain originality/zaniness

The kinds of things I'm /NOT/ looking for:

- pop music
- emo music
- crappy, samey rave/dance/trance/house music. Good music of this genre is okay, though!
- hip hop "music" (read: not actually music)

I have literally no music on my iPhone, so even if it's something that goes without saying (like, say, the Pokemon theme song, or Cliffs of Dover), I do not yet have it.

Thanks in advance for all your help <3

You won't like it but I'm telling you anyway, because it's amazing. Laura Marling.

Other bands/people you might like: (maybe) Everything Everything, James Blake, NICO VEGAAAAAAAA, Okkervil River, (maybe but probably not, dunno whether it counts as pop) Death Cab for Cutie.

You probably won't like any of these, because it sounds like your music taste is near opposite of mine (big fan of indie) but I might as well put my two cents in.
