In Shachorite prison, prisoners have to pay for everything. To pay, they have to earn prison credits by doing various jobs offered by the prison and the state. New prisoners get a stamp ticket for a week of free food and rent (they sleep in the courtyard if they don't pay for their cell). This new guy is sporting the uniform all prisoners start out with. A pair of plain cloth pants and a leather collar with an id tag. They can buy additional clothes using prison credits.

Poor boye.  Hope he doesn't stay poor for long!

Hopefully, he gets to work as an attendant in the prison's bathhouse. No one messes with the bathhouse attendants unless they want to take their last bath ever.

Also, Bathhouses are a religious allowance by the state as Shachorites are very ritualistic in their bathing habits.

"What was that?  I couldn't hear you over the sound of your gurgling, you'll have to speak up!"

Are there any limits to who can be imprisoned here?  It sounds like a fun place to be!

They have started to imprison non-Shachorites more often thanks to a growing number of immigrants. Most are looking for work in the rapidly industrializing Shachor but there are a few bad apples here and there. Of course, different prisons serve different types of criminals.

I see, very interesting.  Is there a prison for cubs? eue
I really like how much thought you've put into this.  I'd love to learn more!

Adulthood on Shachor is 13 as that's when Shachorites shed their patterns for solid back. Shachorite children have vibrant blue patterns with black spots and stripes. So a human child can go to an adult prison. But as for actual youth prisons? Not really a thing. Shachorites typically have massive families and such have a strong support system as children.

I see, very interesting.  I certainly would love to see a little child locked up in one of the prisons, like a special exception hehe.

BTW I've been enjoying this more that what's been going on the e621 post. I posted this and the comments apparently can't stand the fact I had art made that depicts IRL prison... Except I'm not... Surprising since there's also an image featuring city guards AKA cops and THAT only got a comment saying "hey, I might make a D&D campaign based on this setting!"

Heh, I'm glad for that.  I really love the prison theme.  Prisons and mental hospitals/asylums are always so much fun, especially with little cubs involved~
