Was playing around with some techniques in SAI for painting and wanted to illustrate my most recent D&D character. A halfling barbarian kid who managed to tame a Dire Wolf. The kid’s name is Momo, the wolf’s name is Titan \owo/

Anyway, not entirely happy with how everything came out, but I think I learned a lot from it, so that’s good. Hope ya’ll like it!

Holy crap dude! That's awesome. And the absurd res continues, haha.

The background is phenomenal btw. I love the blurred effect on the pines to give an effect of distant but individual needles. Reminds me of surrealism (literature, not painting) and stream of consciousness which really fits with the vague air of battle. The glow on the fur is a nice touch that I enjoy.

To be fair though, I can't hep but dislike the dire's back right pawfoot. I am not sure if its a perspective issue, BUT I decided to look up some images of dogs "playing bow" and noticed it looks weird (to me) in real life.

It looks "better" in positions where part of the leg is vertically hidden, http://languagelog.ldc.upenn.edu/myl/play-bow.jpg ,
but I think that might be because my brain wants the back leg/paw to be awkwardly shrunken.

I adore the background though. It's tremendously pretty to view, and the work captures the "moment of battle" well.

Oh yeah, the back foot is totally messed up :P
There were supposed to be more things in the foreground and it was going to be covered and stuff, but it was just to play around and isn't really completely finished. I may revisit it one day, probably not, but I'd like to, to just touch it up and stuff. But thanks for the feedback, man ^^
