Marked mature for red blood. Animatians such as sheila actually bleed black (the blood looks like ink), but I think in this case the red let her play more with colors, so I don't mind.
One of the problems Animatians face is that they are accident prone. THat is to say, bad things tend to happen to them that are slapstick in nature. They also tend to localize the brunt of the damage as well, so when a bomb goes off, they get the full blast, but humans around them will (by comparison) only have to worry about the noise of the explosion and a reduced shock wave courtesy of cartoon physics. This has been known to result in an Animatian getting dismembered and having to put themselves back together, which can be embarrassing and inconvenient. Of course, any body part that's utterly destroyed can popped back into existence with either a good impact on the opposite end or a yank of the tail.
That said however, fire and temperature extremes (including lasers and cryo-weapons) can take longer to recover from before body parts can be reconnected or "popped" back into existence. Such duration of injury has been known to go as far as a week in extreme circumstances (such as a a plasma leak hitting the unlucky Animatian right in the face and burning the head away.) Complete bodily destruction (reduction solely to ashes) is death for an Animatian.
