I guess that I'm a bit younger to have seem the first one, or maybe the second one air longer here, I'm only 20... That just bring me all the memories.. honestly I have long ago forgotten this existed. But I still remembered to have some images of this kids and the robot as a kid, so I may have seen a bit of both.

I remember growing up with Superbook and The Flying House. One of the scariest things they showed was the kids ending up in HELL for falling for Satan's temptations. The two boys ended up in some kind of toy/mushroom hellscape and the girl was aged like a thousand years. Then Jesus showed up and drove him off with some stern words and it was all a dream.
