Some of you may be doing a double take, but yes, this is a re-do of one of my favorite pictures of my fursona, Rufus the Red wolf :3

I wanted to make a comparison to the first time I did this picture. I still see some things in the new one I've just drawn that I'm not totally satisfied with, but still, I do love the idea of this picture (and that shirt) :3

Definitely a nice improvement n_n He's got a much clearer expression of mild irritation/crankiness here, as opposed to the more "Yeah? What's up?" expression I sensed before. And that shirt never gets old x3

I like this, and I like the other one too. While this is more refined, I actually like the old one better because of the body proportions. It's not a matter of right or wrong, but my own personal preference for the head not to exceed the size of the body too much, which is fast becoming a popular style associated with "cute". I really like the proportions of the old pic, and I like the refinements of this one too.

The trouble with my personal preference is that it always seems to be "fighting the power" when it comes to trends. So many toons these days have GIANT heads on little pea sized bodies. Sonic is the worst offender and MLP too, but so many more. They are VERY popular so the vast majority of people don't seem to mind. But for me, I mind very much.

I would like to see the head:body ratio adjusted, but I also like to see you do what you enjoy. Don't let my personal preference push you around :-)

I've noticed that I like the first picture better in certain respects as well, and now that you mention it, the head on this picture *does* look a little big =p

It was purely accidental, though. I wasn't making a conscious effort to make my picture "kawaii desu" or whatever the nomenclature is for the over-exaggerated heads on the impossibly small bodies. As an artist still learning, I'm still trying to find a balance between toony and reality. But I appreciate you bearing with me and always offering me words of encouragement =)
