So, I was at MFF. All I really did was collect commissions for the most part, and this is a badge commission that I got first.

This piece is done by Keida. (I do not have an available link)

This is Rick, an old character idea ripped off from Final Fantasy 1. The idea was for a Furry Final Fantasy themed sprite comic where the Black Mage was the hero. Looking at the black mage sprite, it seemed that the easiest adjustment was to make the black mage a raccoon.

For the record, the "black" in "black mage" has absolutely nothing to do with race (possibly species in some settings, but not race as in human ethnic groups. In Final Fantasy 1, when the Black Mage becomes a Black Wizard, you will clearly see that he's a white guy too) but is instead about the ability to use attack magic. As such, the use of a raccoon is not to be construed in any way as a racist or otherwise political comment.

The only reference I had available was the sprite I had for my old avatar. This lead to a nice little reference in Keida giving him a pixelated outline. Personally, I am absolutely thrilled with this piece.
