Interestingly, while playing Super Mario 3D World, I've noticed it could easily be titled "Mario and Friends in 3D World." I encountered Plessie, but since her appearances are fleeting, she didn't leave a strong impression. This is common in Mario games: certain characters show up briefly and then disappear. For instance, I was surprised to learn that the dinosaur-like creature Dory or Dorian in Mario 64's Hazy Cave — a character with limited appearances and confined to one area — is actually quite popular.
Mario 64, while a good game, feels like it needed more time to develop fully, as if some ideas weren't quite integrated. Its release was groundbreaking for a Mario game, but it felt a bit unpolished.
I recall encountering Plessie in Mario 3D World on the Nintendo Switch; she's certainly a unique character. What I love about Mario's water-based characters, especially those resembling dinosaurs, is their undeniable cuteness and distinctiveness. Nintendo has a knack for creating such memorable characters. Now, if only they could stop creating some of the more terrifying enemy models!
