Hi, how are you? I enjoyed the Carebears series/movies too, although only the first version from the 1980s. Just a few months ago I rewatched the first three movies ^.^

I know that the Care Bears started having more elaborate designs quite early on, with lots of accessories, in 1985 with Carebears The Movie (although I think they had already made some episodes/shorts as early as in the '83), the following year, in 1986, they made the sequel Carebears 2. In that movie, they introduced two new bears with colorful streaks in their hair, as if they were fashion enthusiasts who dyed their hair (or top-head fur? XD) very much in the '80s style, and their "Bear Cutie Marks," with designs that were more detailed than those of the previous characters.
Although I suppose that from the very first movie, an entire chapter/section was dedicated solely to introducing "the Carebears' cousins," who no longer had to be bears but could be any animal, although the design of these "cousins" remained very much in the line/style with the design of the original Carebears; but the introduction of these "cousins" was NOT the main focus of the movie, the cousins were not the protagonists, the movie did not begin with them, and the plot of the movie had nothing to do with them (it is true that everything about the "cousins" is superfluous in that movie since the only thing they contribute is to give very little help so that the Carebears do not get lost in that "new unknown land" that just poped up... although it was somewhat forcedly placed as a parenthetical element that came out of nowhere, so much so that the Carebears even mention that they had never known that land between Care-A-Lot and the Earth existed). And so much so that it even happens in the resolution of the movie's final conflict: while the Carebears are working hard showering the child possessed by the evil spirit with their rays of affection/positivity (by the way, that moment was impressively terrifying, very well done; it really impressed me when I rewatched the film, how the possessed boy looked, and his voice... almost like a transformation, it was truly scary and seemed there was no hope of saving the boy. Very well done!), all the "cousins" do in that moment is just scream because they couldn't think in anything else XD
I understand there's a fairly respectable idea there about "even when the problem seems to completely overwhelm you and you can't do anything, still do what you can even if it seems pointless," or that perhaps the "cousins" wanted to at least encourage the Carebares with that... but it's easy to see it as a demonstration of how useless and "low IQ" they are for not even being able to think of anything better to do than just shout XD
If I were an evil guy there, I'd laugh out loud at how pathetic those creatures (the "cousins") seemed for not daring to attack but also being too dependent on each other to decide to flee/retreat. Imagine what would happen if they were fighting a T-800 or a Xenomorph alien XD

It's true that, ultimately, the Carebears movies delivered sermons and words of encouragement (like fortune cookies), but they didn't really disguise their true interest in propagandize the plush toys they were selling. At least Teddy Ruxpin (who also promoted the children's books sold with the Teddy plushie) in the series that was made (The Adventures of Teddy Ruxpin), I think, they put a lot more thought and attention into creating a good world/story.

With subsequent generations of Carebears, the design and animation techniques changed completely, but I think they always maintained a rather minimalist or simple design for the bears' marks. It's a bit like Cutie Marks; it has to be something more specific. The mark isn't supposed to represent all the interests or aspects of a personality, but only the most important ones, or a hobby. That's why... I feel, personally and in my opinion, that the mark in your pink bear is somewhat overloaded/overdone
