Oh, boy, did this take a while to get done. XxxSnakeLoverxxX asked to me draw his snake girl Eclipse with Saki. I obliged, but I wasn't sure what to do with the scenery. So, I turned the drawing into a mock movie poster.
I wanted to give Eclipse a very round potbelly that pokes out of her otherwise thin frame. So I added a little dent under her breasts and on the top of her belly.
I changed some details with Saki. I added more texture, shading, and lighting to her hair. I also slightly changed the shade of blue of her crop top. The original shade was a very bright neon blue, and recently, I've felt like it was too bright. So I changed it to a less neon, more sky-blue color instead.
Last year, I added three stripes to Saki's muzzle. For some reason, they didn't look right when I drew them this time. To me, there was too much going on with her face (I'm weird that way). So I omitted that detail.
To be honest, I'm not sure if I'm gonna keep Saki's stripes. I might, but she looks just fine without them. So maybe I'll label it as an optional detail for when other people draw her.
Something else that I wanted to point out is that I almost never draw Saki's full body, but this is one these rare exceptions.
Although I like the end result of my drawing, I honestly wasn't having fun drawing it admittedly. Not because of Eclipse, of course- I had a blast drawing her! It was actually Saki who was the problem.
See, I've drawn Saki so many times (as well as received a ton of fanart of her) that drawing her isn't fun anymore. That's why I've been avoiding drawing her for two months straight. Yesterday, when I first started working on this, I briefly wanted to draw her for some reason. But once I sketched her out, I remembered the reasons why I didn't want to her draw to begin with. I was also having trouble drawing her correctly- I was struggling with her face and proportions. So that didn't help the experience.
Because this experience wasn't the best, I'm gonna go back to my original plan and not draw Saki, probably for a long while. Instead, I'll be focusing on my other ocs, as well as my friends' characters. That plan might change again, and I might draw Saki again soon. We'll just have to see.
