Guess what Elektro and Emily are cosplaying at the moment? If you guessed it correctly, it's Sugar and Coffee, a sketch from the Relaunch Era of All That. So tell me who is who? Elektro is cosplaying as Buzz, the sugar-coated co-host, and Emily is cosplaying Kaffy, the over-caffeinated co-hostess. Just for your information, Buzz and Kaffy's original actors were Kyle Sullivan and Lisa Foiles respectively.
After the cast of the Golden Era (1994-2000) left the show in late 2000, All That went on a one-season hiatus for the 2000-01 season. By January 2002, the new cast of All That were announced and chosen by Frankie Muniz and this marks the beginning of the Relaunch Era (2002-2005) of All That. The original cast of the second run were Chelsea Brummett, Jack DeSena, Lisa Foiles, Bryan Hearne, Shane Lyons, Giovannie Samuels, and Kyle Sullivan. Chelsea, Jack, Lisa, and Kyle were the four who endured the entire second run, as opposed to Josh Server, who was the only cast member who endured the entire first run.
Anyway, Sugar and Coffee depicts two hyperactive talk show co-hosts doing stuff hyperactivly (like jumping on a small-sized trampoline), introducing a special guest then coercing him/her to the sofa, and then forcing them to swallow enormous amounts of sugar and coffee from respective orbs hanging from the ceiling. Sugar and Coffee was the first full-length sketch of the new All That and it was one of the most successful sketches of the new era. Other full sketches which started the show during Season 7 (January-May 2002) were Bridget's Slumber Party and Harry Bladder. Unfortunately, the sketch wasn't used as frequently in later seasons.
Now back to the cosplay, my apologies for informing the viewers of this art piece about the transition from the Golden Era to the Relaunch Era. Anyway, Elektro was seen holding a big bowl of pure sugar while slouching down on the couch while Emily was energized with a huge smile facing directly forward before drinking a gallon of black coffee.
As for the background, I made it look almost exactly like what the set looks like on the talk-show-like sketch. I was going to add a vase of flowers atop of the taller end table, but I erased it because it would've been too much of a difficult challenge for me. The picture was made from a mix between Sharpie and BIC markers, except the white stuff, which were either colored lightly by a mechanical pencil or not colored at all.
So I hope the viewers may enjoy this Sugar and Coffee cosplay, if they're of they have been fans of All That, as in a sketch comedy from Nickelodeon.
