Come spend an hour with me in this open field on a distant world. We're about a mile from the open sea, and off in the distance, you can hear the cries of flying creatures-- They're not birds or insects, though- I think they're flying fish, fully adapted to live entirely outside water! Oh, yes- There's a bit of a wind ruffling through the maroon-coloured grass, with the pink, orange and yellow blossoms swaying in the breeze. The temp is comfy, just a mild 80 degrees Fahrenheit. This worl's sun is big and has a pinkish colour to it-- I think our little picnic will be pleasant!

I remember now what it reminds me of. When I was little there were Swedish audio dramatisations* of the Tintin comic books, and one of them was Destination Moon/Explorers on the Moon. The music track from some of the moon sequences sounds a little bit like this.

Heh, and I complain about being 47... :P I used to have 500 LPs-- My first that I bought myself was Kraftwerk's "Autobahn", and that was in '75... It's from that that I got into electronic ambient music...which eventually led to this experimental excursion... ;)
...And being a science fiction fan since I was VERY little, this is definitely a natural progression for me... ;)

I still have a bunch of LPs, but since my old player broke down I haven't been able to play them. Luckily I had most of them transferred to MP3s already.
The first record I bought was in 1982, Restless and Wild, by the German metal band Accept. It got me into the heavier side of music, and it's still one of my favourite albums. The epic style and lyrics of heavy metal also got me interested in fantasy and fantastic worlds, which I guess kind of shows in my writings.
