So, what's this?

I'll give you the resume version, I like Gijinkas, I like Silver and Rouge and I really like and find funny those drawings of characters working on McDonald's. So, after a while, I decided to do my own take with that idea, using the usual two that you see on my account as workers.

Because of the nature of this project, I went with my good friend @Ganstargab who not only presented two great designs for the genie and butler, but she also suggested details for their designs and even the story itself and honestly, her ideas were so good that I couldn't leave them behind.

Offer of Reconciliation

The working shift came to an end.

A call from her boss made Rouge’s night had a change of plans as the alluring woman was asked to take the graveyard shift from 12 in the morning to 6 in the morning. All came around a time where almost everyone else was busy. Sonic, Tails, Amy and Knuckles left for a trip outside the city the night before and were not coming back until the next week. Shadow, Omega and Sticks already completed their shift and didn’t have the energy to take another shift. Finally, both Blaze and Wave had compromises that they couldn’t leave behind. In the end, Rouge accepted working that night after her boss told her she was going to be compensated with an extra payment and also mentioning that Silver was the only other employee that accepted working on the graveyard shift.

Being paid more than double was a main motivator and something that could convince anyone, but knowing that the silver-haired guy was also going to be there was another good thing as she saw it as a chance to patch things up with him. All happened a few weeks ago, during an arduous day with a lot of clients and barely any time to catch a break. Rouge was the one more stressed about the whole thing and because Silver was acting a bit off, asking her and the others obvious questions and confusing orders, the white-haired gal lashed on him before telling him to concentrate or to leave and stop bothering everyone. It wasn’t until a few days after that bad moment that Rouge heard that the reason why the naive guy was acting like that was for a personal issue and that he tried to continue with his job even after being affected by those conflicting thoughts.

Since that moment, the alluring woman felt that she had to apologize for the way she acted and even though Rouge did that the same day she discovered the truth, she felt it wasn’t enough. That bad moment continued to haunt her and even when everything looked normal between the two, the white-haired gal wanted to show him how much she regretted the way she acted and being with him on the graveyard shift gave her a chance to finally solve her issue, but decided to wait until the end of their working hours. Nonetheless, as they had less clients than they expected, the two were mostly alone and the alluring woman was reconsidering her idea, only to quickly go back to her original plans each time a client came to the establishment.

The most surprising thing was that while it was a weekend night, they only got a total of four orders during the whole night. The first two, a cheerful gal with dark blonde hair and a beautiful white-haired woman with a red and pink outfit, took their orders to go. The next clients didn’t make their appearance until 2 hours later. That group consisted of a guy with a black and yellow leather jacket, a girl with baggy pants and an energetic gal with short purple hair and unlike the two women, they decided to eat in the establishment and even stayed a bit after they finished their orders. Finally, an hour before they had to close, the last two clients, a man with a dark trench coat and a hat and a short-haired goth gal that was carrying a plushie of a colorful snake, also bought their orders to go.

Even with the low number of clients, Silver and Rouge still were busy with other tasks they had to do, being the principal one cleaning and preparing the place for Breezie as the next day she was going to come with a construction team to remodel the place. Once they completed all of their assignments, and with their shift finally over, the alluring woman and the naive guy prepared to take their things and leave. That was the moment where Rouge decided to make her move, starting by walking towards Silver while he was finishing preparing his bag. “Can you please remind me why we accepted working on the graveyard shift?”

“Because…we like working for Breezie and it brings us lots of pleasure and happiness serving the clients that come in here?” His innocent reply made Rouge chuckle. Even though he knew the actual reason, the naive guy still tried to find a positive way of saying why they were there. Of course, seeing how the alluring woman was looking at him, showing that calm yet seductive expression, he knew that he also had to say the real reason. “And also, the fact that she agreed on paying us more than double of what we usually earn plus having the next few days off and the chance of taking some leftovers with us?”

“Atta boy,” she replied, smiling before continuing with their conversation. They talked at the same time they prepared to leave, mentioning the surprisingly low number of clients they had for a weekend night and wondering what their friends might be doing at that exact moment. Rouge also discovered that the real reason why Silver accepted working on that shift was to have something to do, revealing that apart from his last week birthday celebration, he didn’t do anything else and as he wanted to keep himself busy, he accepted the offer. There she had an opportunity not only to finally apologize, but also cheer him up with what she prepared, but before that, the alluring woman felt that she had to ask one important question. “So, tell me handsome. What are you going to do now?”

“Well, I was thinking of taking these leftovers and go back to my apartment. After that, I don’t know. Rest? Why are you asking?” While unsure about her true intentions, if she really wanted to do something with him or was teasing him just like she did with Shadow and Knuckles, Silver was a bit eager to know what the seductive woman had in mind. She also found his reaction cute, how he tried to look like he wasn't interested only for her to notice the way his eyes glazed upon hearing the compliment and the question.

“Can I show you something?” the white-haired gal asked calmly while the two went out of the building through the backdoor. During the small conversation they had, Rouge asked him a lot of questions and each time he wanted an answer, he got more doubts…and yet, Silver couldn’t help but to be interested about her proposal. Hesitant about how to react, the naive guy looked at the white-haired woman again and slowly nodded his head. “Good boy! Now, do me a favor and wait for me here. Don’t worry, I’ll come back. I won’t leave you behind, I promise.”

She didn’t even give him time to ask about what she wanted to show him as Rouge quickly went back to the establishment. As Silver waited, shivering thanks to the cold weather and his own interest in what the alluring woman had prepared, Rouge came back a couple of seconds later and moved in front of him before giving him an object that was covered in bright pink wrapping paper. “What 's this?”

“It’s a gift,” the white-haired gal replied in a calmy. Aware that asking more questions wouldn’t give him a clear answer, the naive guy looked down at the gift and tore off the wrapping paper, revealing that the gift in question was a cyan colored book. On a closer inspection, Silver found out that it was a collection of short stories from some writers he was a fan of and once the mystery item was revealed, Rouge encouraged the silver-haired guy to flip to the first page as a surprise and upon doing that, he was blown away as he discovered that the book had the signature of two writers.

“I don’t believe it…I mean, thank you, I appreciate this but…why are you giving me this? Don’t get me wrong, I really like it, it’s just that…well…” chuckling softly, Rouge knew that his puzzled reaction was because the gift and the surprise on it was something he never expected to see. Although he was naive and there were times in which he was confused about the simplest of tasks or ideas, Silver quickly deduced the true reason for the white-haired gal’s gift. “You’re still affected by what happened between us, don’t you?”

Rouge did rarely hide her opinions or ideas from the rest, never hiding things like her dislike for certain clients or what she thought about all of her friends and coworkers. The silver-haired guy did remember that they talked during one of their breaks, where he was the first one to apologize before telling her that he was working on improving and to avoid letting those conflicting thoughts affect him again. Silver believed that was the end of that bad moment and that everything went back to normal, but the gift made him realize that Rouge couldn’t let that go as the guilt was too much for her.

“It’s my way of apologizing, that’s all,” the white-haired gal explained how overwhelmed she was that day and quickly regretted the way she reacted upon discovering why Silver was acting like that. It was astonishing seeing the confident yet seductive Rouge be like that and even though he believed their issue was solved a while ago, at that moment he wanted to assure her that everything was fine only to remain silent as Rouge kept surprising him with her confession. “I let myself go and, in the end, I said some bad things. I was the one that should have apologized first and after our conversation, I felt I had to do something else and only saying sorry wouldn’t be enough in my opinion.”

Silver always tried to see the best in everyone, understanding that no one was perfect and the fact that it was completely normal to make mistakes. He already came to terms about the fact that he needed to change to improve and when someone else struggled with their own fears and negative thoughts, the silver-haired guy wanted to help them. Looking down at the book one last time, his main focus wasn’t the signatures it had, but the state of the alluring woman as her expression was a gloomy one, preoccupied about if what she did was enough for him to forgive her. The naive guy stopped thinking about that bad moment a while ago and all he wanted to do now was to comfort Rouge, telling her that he liked the gift and that there was nothing to worry about.

“Thank you, Rouge…I really like this gift…I think it’s probably one of the best ones I’ve ever got,” while he believed that his words and the way he expressed himself was awkward, Rouge felt at ease. The silver-haired guy was sincere and showed her that he liked the gesture and that he accepted her apology. Rouge was so pleased with the outcome that she gave Silver a kiss on the cheek, which made him blush much to her own delight. Although he enjoyed the gesture, the naive guy had one last doubt on his head. “So, uhm…now what?”

Smiling upon hearing his question, finding cute the innocent way he reacted, the white-haired gal looked around before thinking about how to reply. With their shift over, there was nothing else for them to do there yet, Rouge had an idea, a proposal that the silver-haired guy might also be interested in. “Well, if you want, you could come to my place and I could read some of those stories to you,” the alluring woman said while gently clinging to his arm. Just by looking at the way he blushed was more than enough for Rouge to know that he was interested, but she still waited for him to tell her that was what he wanted.

“Yeah…I would like that,” Silver nervously replied, slowly nodding his head while looking at the alluring woman. From the moment he saw the book, he was planning in reading it, but Rouge’s proposal was better than his original plan and he was looking forward not only to enjoy the content of the book, but also the fact that they could have a nice time together and finally stop thinking about that bad moment once and for all. As they looked at each other one last time, the white-haired gal held his arm tightly and covered him with her wing before the two started walking away.

After days on which the alluring woman couldn’t stop thinking about her mistake, accepting working on the graveyard shift helped her and, in the end, Rouge was happy. She gave Silver a gift that he liked, apologized and talked with the silver-haired guy about why she couldn’t let that go and most importantly, that issue that haunted her was finally resolved and she got another chance. There was nothing to worry or to feel bad about as the white-haired gal and the naive guy could finally leave that bad moment behind.

And start over.
