Official Name: Tenna’quls
Occupation: Sales Representative
Appearance: PURPLE. Tentacles is a little tentacle monster thing. Its got tentacles everywhere. Its tail consists of six tentacles, two hang from its back, one long tentacle loops around each arm and it has a whole bunch on its head. The two at the top tend to act like ears. Just below its eyes it has additional, short, stubby little tentacles. Its eyes are black with golden pupils. It has darker spots of purple along its arms and a few dark purple bands near the tips of its head tentacles.
Tentacles wears a simple brown and black uniform. When it gets bored, it cuts holes in boxes and draws faces on them, placing them on its head.
Personality: Tentacles has a very professional, business like conduct with a side of superb salesperson. It does its best to assure customer satisfaction although Crew 52 is a tough crowd to win over. Tentacles is very work oriented, dedicated and self-driven.
It has a fairly positive outlook but is most often quiet and observant unless its services are needed. It prefers to be near others, but not make itself a nuisance. All the same, it doesn’t seem to see its physical need for closeness as a possible cause of nuisance. Tentacles is affectionate and would prefer to be snuggled up against someone rather than alone. Their species thrives on being in the company of others—whether of the same species or another does not matter. They need consistent company though for their mental wellbeing.
Tentacles can lean towards the shy side in friend relations, often just smiling uneasily. It’s not big on drama or drawing attention to itself. It is undeniably perseverant and relatively loyal to its friends. Tentacles doesn’t talk much about itself. It listens to what others have to say but seems relatively closed off about its own life unless questioned directly. Regardless, it is a courteous little alien.
Background: The Qahrburboxis are a planetary trade company, extending their services to any willing to pay for such. They are this considered a neutral party in planetary disputes. They do not take sides; they merely supply what has been paid for. Nothing more, nothing less.
The Qwuedeviv work with the Qahrburboxis on a regular basis. In fact their services are so frequently used that the Qahrburboxis and Qwuedeviv have worked out a deal to assign one Qahrburboxis sales rep to each Qwuedeviv crew.
Tentacles is the Qahrburboxis’ representative assigned to Crew 52. It likes the crew for the most part; unless its superiors are pressuring it into collecting the funds Smiley owes it—which of course the Qwuedeviv never pays. It causes occasional tension, but overall Tentacles is content to have someone to hang out with.
They are only required to be ready to provide the needed resources upon call within 24 hours, but Tentacles tends to hang out with its Qwuedeviv customers a large majority of the time. The QCM has questionable practices. The consequences for not paying can be rather…brutal or strange...all depending on their mood. They are not a species one wants to double cross.
Tentacles refuses to get anywhere near Spork because Smiley told it that the interrogation officer wants to eat it and is apparently a big fan of squid and octopus. (This is totally just Smiley’s excuse of keeping Tentacles from asking Spork to pay for their expenses since Smiley orders stuff all the time when it shouldn’t be.)
Tentacles is a curious creature. It often tries to mimic what it sees others do. Since they work with other species regularly, it pays careful attention to learn mannerisms for future knowledge.
QCM (Qahrburboxis Cardboardbox Management) handles the production and distribution of the Qwuedeviv’s Drop pod Boxes. They appear as regular cardboard boxes but are actually composed of some kind of nanotechnology.
Tentacles spends a large portion of its time sitting in a box and reading over paperwork/organizing lists. It is very goal driven, so it likes to keep itself busy at all times.
Smiley doesn’t seem to understand that Tentacles is essentially their shipment manager so it often assigns it strange tasks that are not in its job description. Tentacles tries to fulfill all such requests—or commands—under the policy of keeping the customer happy.
Tentacles job tends to be in jeopardy a lot thanks to Smiley not paying it, and although it spends excessive amounts of time pleading with its superiors on the unintelligent Qwuedeviv’s behalf even it can’t hold back their wrath forever. It has tried several different approaches with Smiley, thusfar none have worked, leaving it to assume there is going to be serious trouble eventually—both for it and the Qwuedeviv crew.
