This is a review and mostly thoughts on the Kotobukiya Mega Man X model kit. So tomorrow or I guess today if I don't get this out before 12:00, Kotobukiya is gonna do a big stream showcasing their upcoming model kits, and will mostly focus on Mega Man X, where it'll be shown or streamed, and this model kit came earlier than expected, but I'm so goddamn excited to talk about it's ups.. And it's downs...

So for starers; this is the STANDARD X model kit, if you want the Premium Charge Shot version, the box will be a darker color with a more glossier version of the character and a different color for the effect piece.

Now onto the first part, assembly, the kit has instructions that provide illustrations of what to do, in the even you're not a weeb and "speak" Japanese. The process of building this boy is straightforward, but tricky, given how small he is, so a lot of time and especially patience will be required if you want to build this in one sitting, you will need tools like a toenail clipper, and a hobby knife to cut off the parts from the plastic trees, and to clip off any excess plastic that could get in the way of building.

The final result is a well designed masterpiece, it's very accurate to the Mega Man X character and has a good amount of accessories to boot. X comes with; three sets of faces and hands, his X-Buster, a blast effect piece with removable parts, and a thing that attaches to the lower part of the effect piece. It also comes with a couple extra rubber ball parts, in case you lose one or two.

Now for the downsides of this kit, while X here can pose very well, with this being a model kit that you build, of course trying to pose it comes at the cost of some or more parts coming off if you're not careful enough. Now for me the main issue I have when posing it, is one of the feet, if I try and pivot the foot too far, it would disconnect from the leg, and is a bitch to put back in, or the bicep parts kinda wanting to come out of the shoulder whenever I wanna switch it to the buster. In short, this is a thing you just put in a cool pose, and leave on a shelf, for the most part at least.

This Mega Man X is in the 1:12 scale, which means he scales well in comparison to stuff like Marvel Legends, or Star Wars Black Series, or even Jakk's Pacific's Mario and Sonic, and even Jada Toys' Street Fighter.

All around, this model kit is pretty much goated, if not God tier. I'd recommend it for anyone that wants to get into model kits, and more importantly has the hours, and money to spare, as these are usually not cheap and go for ridiculous prices online in some places, and the price differs depending on the model kit. But I say it's well worth it.

I might've forgotten to mention; but be careful with the effect parts, they're sharp and pointy as hell, and could cut. So be careful for that.
