As much as I would agree, I do not want to go to jail for assault, even if a pedo deserves it.

I get your argument i reallly do, but i dont understand the concept of coming to a porn site to talk about the issue especially a porn site that is geared specifically towards furries. Most accounts runt the risk of getting banned from here even for posting anything remotely human related. (granted the art would have to be reported). aside from that I agree that they should get help especially those that have yet to harm a child and do not wish to. however, how can they when you make open threats of killing them? I truly feel as though it is due to a mental disorder much like homosexuality. if homosexuals dont choose to be that way then how can pedophiles be any different?

This isnt a bait comment or anything like that I am truly interested in hearing what your stance is and what you would consider an actual pedophile or where the line would be drawn.

Homosexuality isn't a mental illness, both aren't.

People at risk of harming children are suffering from impulse control disorder, people constantly afraid of harming children could be suffering from child abuse obsessive-compulsive disorder, and people depressed by their attractions/urges are suffering from depression

You are correct in saying that its not a choice, and social stigma behind pedophilia is a barrier in mental health treatment

Best thing we can do is to make mental health services for available for MAPs and try to educate people on the subject

People shouldn't openly share such paraphilias (even if they're non-contact). It can form an especially unhealthy community and it's not the best way to recover.

what unhealthy community would they make and what are they recovering from?

it can be a good thing to share that sort of stuff, especially for some kind of support group where people are talking with others like them so that they know that they're not alone with an attraction.

aid what? doubt that there's too much therapists can do, maybe they can help with stopping people from thinking that they are doomed to offend no matter how horny they are though or something.
