The warming fire died out over the course of the night, leaving lovers to keep each other warm with their own embrace.
But still the Osgar awoke with a shiver. The winter cold now breaching into the secluded cave, leaving Osgar's mind to wonder from needing to sleep, and instead that to bring warmth back into the cavern.
Osgar quietly and respectfully moved Dyn's arm so that he could get up, and then placed it gently on the sleeping mat.
Once Osgar got up he could feel it was far colder in the cave than he had expected. He was mostly nude aside from his stained shirt. Osgar went to his bag and searched for spare clothes he had left in there. Whilst searching in his bag he noticed his phone was in their. With hope he quickly picked up and checked if there was any signal but to his dismay, the phone itself was utterly shattered, probably due to his arrival in this strange land.
He couldn't drop the notion of fear that was floating above him. That he maybe trapped here, and though times were tough for back home, he still felt homesick. If it weren't for the cold he would have began to cry. He took a deep breath, and calmed himself, and began to put on the spare clothes on.
He put on the spare t-shirt and a jumper he had bought during his trip, and began to search for some wood, and kindling to put on the fire.
It was early morning with the sun lightly shinning through gaps in the dark cloudy sky. He travelled not too far from the cave and gathered up some fallen branches and twigs that were littering the nearby woodland. After gathering a sufficient amount of wood he started heading back to the cave.
Suddenly he heard shouting: "OZGAR?" The voice called. "OZGAR!" It was Dyn, he must have woken up.
As Osgar neared the cave, he saw the naked Dyn look frantically round. As he was about call out one more time, he saw Osgar, and smiled with relief.
He hurried to Osgar and gave him a hug.
"Ég var áhyggjufullur." The Warrior embraced him, almost causing Osgar to drop his collection onto the ground.
"Oh! I am sorry for worrying you." Osgar apologised. Dyn looked at Osgar, and noticed the wood: "Ah! Ég skil." He sighed with relief.
He took a good chunk of the collection and gestured back towards the cave.
The pair set up the fire, Osgar watching Dyn lead with an old fire making technique using what looked like wool, flint and steel. It took sometime but the Dyn managed to get the fire started.
Dyn cooked some meats that he had kept wrapped up in a cloth, and the pair ate. It surprised Osgar that Dyn was still nude, and though they had a fire going the cold didn't really seem to faze him.
After eating, began getting clothed and packing his stuff into his chest.
"Are we leaving already?" Osgar asked. Dyn turned to him, and simply said: "Lundwic."
Osgar's eyes widened. Lundwic? That's Anglo-Saxon name of London if he remembered correctly. So that means that, this is definitely the past. So how did he get here, Osgar wondered.
"Við förum fljótlega." Dyn said finishing up the packing. Before closing the chest however, Dyn picked up a cloak and passed it to Osgar.
"Notaðu það. Það er hlýtt" Dyn gestured to putting it on. Osgar bowed his head gently and put the cloak over him.
Soon after that, the pair left the cave.
It was relatively quiet, with the waterfall being the main source of noise Osgar could hear. But it was peaceful, and peaceful is all that Osgar needed. As now he has to figure out what's his next steps. He doesn't know how he got here, but at the very least he has found someone that he can seemingly trust.
And so he followed Dyn, to Lundwic, and hopefully to answer the questions that he has.

The End.

Finally I have completed this series.
It has taken an unnecessarily long time to complete, but I am glad to have finished it how I initially envisioned.
I am superbly pleased with how this came out, especially when I am doing it during this searing heat that is bombarding the UK now. Though I am not complaining that much as if it weren't for this heatwave, I probably wouldn't have made this piece.
I had already got two days off of work due to me attempting (and failing) my driving test which has probably been the biggest drain on my motivation, as it basically stalls everything. It prevents me from getting to do more activities, and improving my training for work. But thankfully (and unfortunately) this heatwave was coming in too, and so work cancelled for Monday and Tuesday.
Hope you all enjoy it, as much as I have enjoyed making it, and as always thank you for any and all attention towards my work it always means so much to me that I am not just screaming into the void with the stuff I make.
Cheers and Take care everyone.
