They can discover their feelings only once, so if they do it as cubs, you'll have to use some brainwashing device to let them do it again later... 🙄

I meant that Simba and Nala are not separated, but stay together and thus discover their feelings for each other earlier.

Possibly. But what if Nala fainted much earlier than Simba did? There's no telling that Timon and Pumbaa travel that far out into the desert?

Maybe she'll find someone else to help... Surely Timon and Pumbba aren't the only ones visiting the desert.

Yeah, the vultures, who are circling around, waiting for her to collapse...

For some reason, I have a hard time believing anyone other than Timon and Pumbaa visit the desert from time to time. But, let's just say they did find and save her in this case.
