I modified what the two Fiverr artists refused to add on both designs, the 4th floor. I modded the new image so you can see what the 4th floor would appear like at this distance. The 4th floor is only possible by adding the external glass shell.

If you donated here, you are already apart of the Infinity credits.
The infinity credits is actually an interactive system, one where the viewer can click a name and read more about the backer, such as their facebook, youtube, art profiles, and any other form of social media the backer wishes to be recognized. It is the same credit screen that will be found on the website tricksta.co, so if any backer wishes to inquire about changing information on the infinity credits they can do so by making an inquiry on that website.

Imagine the movie credits as you would typically see in a movie, over music, however in this system you can mouseover names and the credits will pause to show information about the person you are hovering over, clicking the name will show the full information that backer wants you to know.  As long as the place stands the system will be there for visitors to view, as well as online at tricksta.co

Backers In the 500-1000 group, the list will also be used to permit unlimited access to events that take place there, so those backers don't actually have to point at their names on the wall of fame to get in.

Update $5,000 Milestone reached!

I redesigned floors 1-2 to add 2 additional steps in the front entrance. They will resolve the situation with the entrance being below ground level.
The floating stairs will appear with neat underglow lights.
At the center,  of both entrance doors, lights will hang from the main ceiling down to the second-floor level.
Doing this will prevent the issue where the doors overlap the second floor and issues with people walking in front of the bathroom windows.
the changes will also add an additional staircase for quick access to the social space on floor 2, and the main hall on floor 2. Tenants living on floor 2 can access the main entrance doors without being interrupted by activities taking place on floor 1
I feel these changes provide more safety, convenience, and more usability of the space for all that will stay there.

Update... There are several flaws with what this lady did, but oh well. I hope the model from the guy I ordered after will be more correct.

This will mainly a place artists can stay and do art together without getting judged by outsiders. For the most part the artist there will learn how to improve their art, while they make art focused on whatever projects we will be working on together.

51 days... is plenty ...
https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/tricksta/trickstac...
There are exactly 51 days left before our Kickstarter ends, and as it stands we need to make approximately TOO MUCH MONEY every day somehow or lose everything.
That's your building too, nothing like visiting conventions like Furthermore in a building that was built for the people visiting it.

58 days from not that dream could be gone. If you can't give anything, amplify this thing. spread the link and the QR code. I believe we can make this is possible.

This looks pretty cool! What sort of art skills are you planning to offer lessons in? What mediums? Are you offering flats? Apartments? Dorm style living conditions?

Not that I live anywhere nearby to take advantage of this, I am just curious as I am currently living in an art commune.
Tricksta
3 months, 3 weeks ago
Everything I know and other artists know since I would also like to learn from the people who visit. a majority of the art is digital, but there will be physical mediums as well.

How is your art commune?

Pretty decent. More of a rent controlled apartment complex, really. Admission is peer reviewed if you want to get an apartment, also apparently there is a waiting list? I am not sure of all the details as I got in through my room-mate, who is a bespoke tailor. The definition of art for the purpose of getting an apartment is pretty wide. $725 for a two bedroom apartment in downtown, so price is good. All of the public halls are open gallery space for the residence, so the halls are gorgeously decorated.

I mean are you planning on being landlord and leasing apartments to artists? Or is it a gallery/social hangout? The kick starter and such don't really have much description.
Ah, nevermind XD The link only shows the backers rewards, not a description of the project itself.
Tricksta
3 months, 1 week ago
It's a bit of both. There are artist who will stay as guest and the people who rent to support the artist who stay as guest. those people will likely also be artists, just staying long term guest.

not bad building Design, one question though where are you going to store the backup batteries just in case there is a power blackout and the building needs the power for the lights and such
Tricksta
3 months, 1 week ago
The parking garage level which is not drawn yet houses all the batteries and inverters where it is cooler. only the high voltage lines from the solar panels are on the roof, they run through the central air shaft to the basement.

I don't get it. What are you asking for money for? Why is there a building design? Are you going to actually build it? How do you build something from scratch, or even buy an existing multi-floor building for just 25K? Why are the rewards to be delivered in 2023?

As a campaign, this isn't a good one. I suggest some changes:

1. Right under "About" there should be a one paragraph explanation of who you are, and what's your plan.
2. Add more details. What artists are you talking about? How is the space to be used? Why is this a good idea? What problem does it solve? Apparently somebody is going to be teaching? Who will teach and what?
3. Right after that, what is going to be paid for? Construction, rental, purchase?
4. Explanation of the amount. Do you just need a building? What about any furniture?
5. You need to ask for more than what you need. What about lawyers, insurance, fees, and kickstarter's own surcharge?
6. Shove the building plans somewhere way down. I would bet 99% of people don't care about where the bathroom is.

And proofread it. Your campaign is for $25K. Your text says you need $250K. That's quite the difference.

I really like that this is the most level headed and sensible comment left and and it is the only one he has not responded too.
lol
Skunks
2 months, 2 weeks ago
He generally doesn't and if he does it's just some snarky nonresponse. At this point he either has to be trying to pull some sort of scam, or he's delusional. He's already in debt from school and car payments, he cant name a single bit of experience that will let enable him to run an art business, hospitality, AND retail (since this is supposed to be some sort of art school, living space, and a gift shop), won't explain how $25,000 is going to be enough to demolish what's there and build a fancy modern structure in Washington DC of all places, furnish it, and get a staff going, not to mention how he'll actually pay that staff since it seems most of the payment rendered is in art. And then to boot once he realizes people aren't funding it, suddenly out of nowhere he has this super generous, rich CEO friend with all kinds of contacts in the industry that's just fully willing to fund the entire $25,000 and the only reason he was doing this was to see if people would support?

Honestly I could go both ways. He could have lost it or he's just trying to make money.

What I'm wondering, and I didn't see any explanation, but why the huge glass cage around it? Glass panes that big are fucking expensive. That shell alone would easily cost 20k around here, dunno how much in America. And it introduces upkeep costs because that glass has to be cleaned - way more often that a building wall would.
Why add something that will drive the costs way up when you have trouble funding it to start with?
Skunks
2 months, 2 weeks ago
He responded to that somewhere, maybe on his last journal about it, apparently it has some sort of structural purpose. Still a huge cost, though, yes
Tricksta
2 months, 2 weeks ago
Watch the Kickstarter video, it explains it somewhat, but it also explains a plan B regarding that as well.
Tricksta
2 months, 2 weeks ago
Both people designed the glass part oddly and refused to do it correctly. It's not as big as that and more functional than what it was drawn to look like here. I will get a more accurate view of what everything should look like when I get an actual architect involved.
xKrinx
2 months, 2 weeks ago
I was kinda thinking the same thing. XD $25K for fully furnishing a building, making sure everything is up to code, not to mention any refurnishing and/or repairs that would have to be done in the process---- in DC, mind you? I think we're one of the few who even went like--- "...Wha..?" when even listening to the concept on paper.

Everyone else apparently:

RSDC03

If you don't mind my asking, what is the purpose of the metal(steel?) and glass frame surrounding the building?
Tricksta
It adds the social space for floors 2-4, it also allows for the underground parking to be added.

A community like this would not be possible with people crammed into tiny rooms.
RSDC03
How exactly does it allow for the underground parking to be added?
Tricksta
There is a large area of land behind it and another plot of land for sale beyond that. the plan is to reinforce the foundation to stop the sinking of the building and raise the building a few inches/ feet, so the underground parking will be apart of the efforts to go under the building and build a better foundation.
RSDC03
I take it the area behind the building is no longer public parking?
Tricksta
All that land is for sale
Tricksta
You sound somewhat more interested than most people here, I could only imagine you contributed.
RSDC03
I'm just a bit confused, there seems to be a public parking lot directly behind the building unless Google's info is out of date.
Tricksta
it's there right now, but there are plots of land right before that, and every bit of land is on the market even though you can't find most some of it online just yet. The temporary public parking lot is included.

So overall inkbunny users are more willing to donate, but the few FA users who are willing to are willing to donate larger amounts. Atleast FA isn't quite the cesspool of negativity that it tends to look like, it's only about 80% e621.

If you go through with this, you will be in crippling debt for the rest of your life.

Even if you'd just bought a cheap house somewhere out in the countryside, you'd likely still end up in debt you'd be paying of for a decade or two. but this? this is going to become your grave long before a single other artist can even set foot inside.
Tricksta
2 months, 3 weeks ago
Not likely with the numbers I'm looking at, however, with the experiences, I will have with everyone at this place I would not mind that worst-case scenario.

seems small, do you already have the zoning and permits taken care of?
Tricksta
2 months, 3 weeks ago
The zone designated for this building is DC zone  D-4-R zone

http://handbook.dcoz.dc.gov/zones/downtown/d-4-r/

The purposes of the D-4-R zone are to promote the development of high-density residential and mixed-use neighborhoods on:

Massachusetts Avenue between Thomas Circle and New Jersey Avenue, N.W.

The Mount Vernon Triangle neighborhood located between New York, New Jersey, and Massachusetts Avenues, N.W.; and

The blocks between Massachusetts Avenue, N.W. and Judiciary Square.

A building with frontage on a designated primary or secondary street shall meet the design requirements on Subtitle I § 602. A building in the D‑4-R zone fronting on a designated primary street segment in the Mount Vernon Triangle Principal Intersection Area Sub-Area shall conform with the design requirements in Subtitle I §§ 612.5 and 612.6

We are permitted to construct up to a 20 story building in that space.

That glass...cage(?) is going to turn the whole building into a big greenhouse in the summer months.
Tricksta
I did think of that as well.  Aluminum oxynitride windows on the sides that would face the sun will prevent that, however, the heating is ideal for winter so the plan is for smart ventilation, and roller shades for the summer months.
