Character Sheet for Droid the Ermine
Droid is a lively, curious and slightly airheaded boy with high morals and a short fuse. He'll run head first into danger if he thinks he can help someone. No matter if he has the actual ability to help, or not. He grew up admiring heroes like sonic and wants to be cool like them. He's just... not very good at it.
He's open, friendly and maybe a little stupid. Droid is easily excitable and cares deeply for those close to him. He will do anything to protect them, no matter the consequences. However his lack of critical thinking skills causes him to be the "Damsel in distress" more often than he'd like.
- his super cool boyfriend, Optic
- being called a hero or cool
- praise in general
- drinks and food with extraordinarily high amounts of sugar in them (though it will make him hyper and nobody wants him to be hyper)
- Kicking ass
- He'd like to have a cape
- Not getting a cape because it's "too dangerous" and he could "strangle himself with it"
- Running out of fuel for his legs
- Feeling useless
- Having his stash of sweets taken away
- Optic talking badly about his robot parts
Droid grew up in a small town with his close family. As a child he wouold often get hurt by falling into holes or getting into fights. And no matter how hard she tried, his mother could never quite make him stop this behaviour.
So when Eggman's forces attacked (During the time right before sonic forces) and his town was overwhelmed he got to feel the severe consequences of his thoughtless actions. He was only 13 at the time. The building was crumbling due to one of the huge crab bots stepping on it, but Droid decided to run back inside because he thought he'd heard his mother scream from inside the building. The building collapsed on top of him and crushed his body. It was a miracle he survived but both of his legs and one hand were impossible to save and his body was paralyzed from his neck down.
He spent half a year in a coma... and then almost three years in a wheelchair. More like a husk of his former self. His will to live seemingly gone. He wasn't dead... but he wasn't living either. Until one day a scientist took interest in him. She was working on powerful prosthetic limbs that hadn't been tested on mobians yet. Seeing even just a hint of hope, Droid volunteered. And after several long and harsh surgeries and the respective recovery times... Droid took his first steps on his new mechanical limbs.
From that day on little by little his old personality returned to him. He could laugh again. run. Even fly. And most importantly he looked cooler than ever. With new found enthusiasm for life he decided he would become a hero. So that no one else had to suffer from eggman's attacks ever again.
In a battle where he was hopelessly outnumbered he met the man who is his boyfriend today. Optic, a half roboticized escapee from eggman's conversion labs. Unlike Droid he needs no flue to operate his robotic parts and he's a much more efficient fighter. So when Droid ran out of fuel during the battle against eggman's forces, Optic saved his life.
Initially droid just wanted to thank him... then he got curious about him. And eventually he couldn't stop thinking about the hero anymore. His own enthusiasm for Optic's robot parts slowly helped Optic to accept this part of him more.
