Chapter 1: Sudden News
(Jax’s Point of View)

When I woke up this morning, I was not expecting to see Sans standing at my door… with a less than stellar look on his face… I know that look all to well, something bad happened, and it involves me. Sans let me equip my armor and I walked outside, where we started talking.
“Alright, what’s wrong?” I crosses my arms.
*“Well, you remember Sofia, right? And what you're brother did to her?” Sans asked.
“It’s like I have to be reminded everyday, but yes.” I replied.
“Well, they got into a little scuffle… and one thing lead to another, and well… er… ah… Sofia won.” Sans explained, rubbing the back of his neck. I felt my eyes go wide… I mean, sure… he deserved it… but…
“He’s… dead then?” I took a step back.
“Yes… Sofia get her revenge.” Sans confirmed. I mean listen, even if he was an asshole, he’s still… or was, my brother… the only family I had left, actually.
“I ugh… I see..” I leaned against the nearby wall… unknowing of how to react.
“Papyrus has the body in cold storage in the Vault, if you wanna say you're last goodbyes, maybe bury him.” Sans played a hand on my shoulder. I nodded… speechless. Sans sighed and teleported away. Slowly, I made my way over to the Vault, Papyrus was standing guard as usual.
“I suppose Sans told you the news already, huh?” Papyrus asked, again, I just nodded. “Very well, I’ll let you see it for yourself.” Papyrus opened the vault, and passed the mountains of Determination and other explosive supplies, the Cold Storage unit was in the back of the vault. Walking inside, I could see the body from here… getting closer, he was still wearing his bloody Powered armor… he also had a rag wrapped around his head to hide the massie hole in the side. I suppressed the urge to vomit… but still… in the back of mind… that’s still him. I can’t believe the final memories of my brother will be of murder, lies, and rape. What caused him to turn like this? He wasn't a bad guy before… something must of happened that caused him to flip. Maybe the pressure of being a Xcom Commander got to him? Maybe because he suffered such great losses in the past it just drove him mad? I’m never gonna find out… because now he’s just gone. That’s what pisses me off, I’ll never know what really happened to him… there's nothing I can do to make this better. Everyone who knew him hated him, he died alone… with no friends or family beside him… alone face first in the mud god knows where. In my building rage, I slammed my fist into the wall of the Vault… I felt tears forming my eyes… Papyrus kept his distance. All my years of being a soldier never prepared me for this. Not only is the last of my family gone, his final memories are gonna haunt me for the rest of my life. There has to be something I could do… but the chances of that are slim to none… unless...

Chapter 2: Firestar Junior
(Fell Chara’s Point of view)

As I entered Springfield though the trees, I was greeted by some of the people who lived next to the edge…. I’ve used this enterence many times before. Either with the whole group, R.Frisk, or sometimes just by myself, when I needed to get away from them all. I knew all the store owners by name, and was treated like part of the family. Like my home away from home… or just down the street, in this case. I looked around, watching everyone go about their normal… daily lives. I wondered what it would be like without needing to deal with timelines… or monsters… or determination… but then again, if none of that happened to me, then I wouldn't be where I am now. Hell, this life I got now ain’t so bad… sure what happened before now was awful, but that’s just that… in the past. Now, I got a girlfriend, tons of other friends, and a solid footing in this world. Yeah, the constant threat of Error Sans and the whole Xcom terrorist group still looms over our heads, but we can handle ourselves. Lost in my day dreaming, I ended up running into someone walking down the sidewalk, causing both of us to fall over.
“Ooow…” The other person, a girl about the same age as me mumbled.
“Oh, my bad… I was kinda lost in thought.” I helped the girl up… her red dress/coat crossover covered it dirt… her short silver-blu-... wait a second.
“Oh, it’s okay, I wasn't really looking out myself… you're not hurt or anything, right?” The girl responded, I noticed a small cut on my elbow, but nothing too drastic. I swear this girl matched Sans’s picture he showed us earlier, but I did not wanna jump to conclusions.
“Eh, trust me… I’ve been through worse.” I chuckled. “Anyway, I’m Chara “Fell” Dreemurr.” I extended my hand in proper greeting. The girl happily took it.
“Well, I’m Alice Firestar… but I don’t have a nickname” Alice replied. Well, I guess that confirms it… but again, I did not wanna jump right into it… possibly scaring her off.
“Funny, I never seen you around before. Trust me, in this small town, I’d be able to remember a face.” I opened conversation.
“Well… honestly… I don’t remember much of my past… it feels like I just woke up here yesterday, but at the same time, I know it’s been longer than that.” Alice explained.
“Really? How so?” I gave a confused look.
“I mean, I remember snippets of my life, and clearly I've known this place for a while, but I don't remember going out a lot. Like one day I was 10, the next week I was 15, now I’m 18… my caretaker says it must be some kinda weird memory loss.” Alice tried her best to draw it out.
“Wow… that sounds rough.” I admitted.
“Yeah… but hey, I’m here now, might as well enjoy life… as hard as that is, with everything going crazy outside.” Alice shrugged. Damn… she’s a really happy go lucky kinda girl, eh?
“Oh, you heard about the war and all that?” I have to admit, I was a little intrigued that Alice knew about everything.
“A lot of us are well aware of the War for the Planet going on… I’m not much of a fighter, but I do know about the Aliens and that terror group. I also know about the Monsters that came from… god knows where.” Alice lit up when she mentioned Monsters.
“Really? You heard of us then?” I raised an eyebrow.
“Oh my god, you're from their world? That must be so cool! I’ve always wanted to meet you guys, but my caretaker doesn't let me leave the town much.” Alice started getting really excited now… how far will this rabbit hole go?
“Well, it’s not all fun and games, but yes. I am from the world Called Underfell, hence my nickname.” I explained.
“There are multiple worlds of monsters?”
“Yeah… quite a few actually, so if you see more than one goat, or more then one version of me running around, don’t be alarmed.” I laughed.
“Don’t worry, I find that rather fascinating to be honest.” Alice smiled wide.
“Hey, sorry if this is a bit of a personal question, but what do you mean by Caretaker… what about your parents.” I asked.
“Don’t worry, I’m okay with talking about it. But I never knew my father, and I haven’t seen my mother in a long time. But my caretaker is a really good friend, known her since I was old enough to walk… whenever that was.” Alice explained.
“Well, maybe you might bet to see your mother again.” I shrugged. But anyway, we continued our conversation, I also explained a lot of my history. Alice listened to every word, and was interested the whole time. As good of a listener as R.Frisk, maybe even better.
“Oh, you have a girlfriend?” Alice stooped me after I mentioned R.Frisk.
“Yeah, I kinda swing that way, if you get what I’m saying.” I felt a little awkward.
“Oh, sorry if that was a sudden stop… it’s okay, I don’t judge often anway. I just never had a relationship before.” Alice explained.
“It’s okay, and hey, in my experience of likeing girls, you ain’t bad at all.” I laughed.
   “Gee, I’m flattered.” Alice joked.
“Speaking off, my brother, Asriel, got into a bit of a fight with some of my other friends… apparently he’s feeling a little lonely, and it just got to much. He ran away, but once we find him, someone like you would be just the thing he'd need to cheer himself up. He is a monster, I should warn you. A goat, to be specific.” I explained.
“Humm… well, I’d clearly have to meet him first, but a goat? That sounds so cute! A fuzzy goat person!” Alice giggled.
“Well, I guess I’ll let ya know when we find him then.” I offered.
“Oh please do!” Alice smiled again. Our little walk lasted a few more minutes before I noticed we took a whole lap around the town.
“Welp, I guess I should get back to my house. But it was nice meeting a new face.” I told Alice before making my way back towards the edge.
“Okay, fair enough, come back soon, eh?” Alice laughed and waved as I left. I gave a small wave back and I walked over back to the Settlement grounds… time to go tell everyone the news.

Chapter 3: Desperate Thinking
(Jax’s Point of View)

I ended up making my way down to the Undertale Lab at the Settlements… call it crazy, but I need something… someway to cope with this. My brother’s dead and my Girlfriend is depressed… what the hell do I have left? Anyway, I walked up to the door, but I hesitated before ringing the buzzer… taking a deep breath, I just hit it.
“Hold on… hold on…” I heard Alphys over the intercom… then I saw a small camera pop out over the door. “Huh? Jax? What are you doing here? Er… nevermind, let me get the door for you.” The camera retracted and the door slid open, I walked in and made my way down to Alphys’s main work area.
“Hey… sorry for bothering you…” I mumbled, still half depressed.
“Ah, it’s alright, things have been going kinda slow anyway. Regardless, how can I help you?” Alphys looked up from one of her work benches.
“Well, as Sans may have told you, Jet recently got killed…” I started.
“Yes, he has… I mean no offence, but he was a real thorn in our sides… more so F.Frisk.” Alphys admitted.
“Yeah, yeah, I get it, he was an asshole… goddamnit..” I clenched my fists.
“Right… sorry, I forgot you two were still family.” Alphys suddenly looked awkward. I sighed, and rolled my eyes under my helmet.
“Yeah, sure it’s fine… no one liked him anyway… but I’m here to see if I can fix that… ya know, make sure his final memories aren't those of rape and murder…” I explained.
“How do you plan to do that? And why do you need me?” Alphys started to look interested. I reached to my belt and pulled out a bottle of Jet’s Determination…. Papyrus let me use the mini-extraction machine we had in the vault.
“Well, you know AI programs are based of real human minds right, maybe there could be a way to make an AI, based his Jet’s memories, using his DT. I understand it maybe hard, more so because I want you to delete everything in his memories regarding Sofia.” I explained.
“Jezz… that’s a tall order…” Alphys mumbled, taking the vial.
“Don’t worry, I understand, if you agree to do it, you can have all the time you need.” I replied.
“Alright… I’ll see what I can do, I suppose.” Alphys set the DT on a tray beside her microscope.
“Cool… thank you… ugh, here’s my number, you can text me whenever you're ready.” I handed her a small slip of paper, she took at and placed it inside her coat pocket.
“You got big goals, Jax...but I can understand why you'd want to do it.” Alphys gave me a smile.
“Right.. well, I’ll leave you to it, I guess.” We shared a nod and I left the lab… taking a deep breath, I went back to the Blacksite.

When I got back to the Blacksite, Sans was leaning against the door to my living quarters.
*“Dude, you need to take a break. You got a lot bugging you.” Sans looked me straight in the eyes. I sighed, taking off my Helmet.
“There is no taking a break from this line of work, ya know.” I crossed my arms.
*“Sure there is, take some time off, maybe take Kayla somewhere. It’s been a while since you went out with her.” Sans offered.
“If I can ever find her again… but I guess you're right…” I looked off into distance… yeah it’s been awhile since we did anything… but our history has been… complicated. Kayla is more of a keep to herself kinda girl… but maybe it’s worth trying again? Never know when something might click.
*“Anyway, I gotta cheek up on a few things back at the settlement. I’ll leave you alone to think.” Sans patted me on the back and left me with my thoughts.

Chapter 4: Reunion
(Classic Sans’s Point of View)

By the time I got back to the house, F.Chara had already returned from her little trip to Springfield.
*“Well, what’s the verdict?” I crossed my arms.
   “I found her…” F.Chara reported.
   *“Already?” I raised an eyebrow.
“Yeah, matches the picture and description perfectly.” F.Chara shrugged.
*“Alright… I’ll call Sofia, then we can go pick up Alice.” I rubbed my chin… is this really gonna be the lost Child Sofia speaks of? Regardless, I pulled out my phone and gave her a call.
“Huh…? Sans, is that you?” She sounded like she just woke up from a nap.
*“Yeah, one of my friends says she spotted you're daughter living in Springfield.” I explained.
“Really?” Sofia’s voice went from tired to excited in an instant.
*“Apparently so… meet us in the field outside the settlements and I’ll bring her to you.” I offered.
“Yeah, of course! I’ll be right their!” Sofia shouted and hung up. I turned to F.Chara.
“Alright, let’s go find the so called Alice Firestar. I shrugged and teleported both myself and F.Chara to Springfield. It took us a minute, but F.Chara managed to spot her near the Pool Entrance.
“Oh, hey Chara! What brings you back here? Oh… and you brought a friend?” Alice smiled as we approached.
“Yeah, this is Classic Sans, he comes from the original timeline… if that makes sense to you.” I explained.
“I remember what you said about multiple versions of your world… but he looks like a skeleton.” Alice took a good look at me
*“Because I am a Skeleton… one of the many Monsters from my world.” I explained.
“Fair enough… but why are you here with Chara?” Alice for right to the point.
*“Well… how do I put this… this may sound odd coming from someone you may not know, but I think I may have found your mother.” I explained.
“Really?? How? Where? Can you be sure??” Alice started rapidly firing questions. I sighed and pulled out the same photo Sofia gave me.
*“Because she gave me this after getting to a pretty nasty fight with you- I mean with a… well let’s just say she got into a nasty fight and asked me to look for you before she blacked out.” I gave Alice the picture.
“Well, that definitely is me… but I guess the only way to know for certain is to trust you… but she got into a fight??” Alice shrugged.
*“Thank god… but anyway… yes, she was badly wounded but she is a lot better now… she actually agreed to meet up in the field near my settlements… so we shouldn't leave her hanging.” I explained.
   “Okay, let’s go…” Alice nodded.
*“Alright, hang on to something.” I smiled and held up my main hand… getting ready to teleport. Alice gave a confused look before I snapped my fingers, and we were in the middle of the Settlement grounds.
“Whoa… what the!?” Alice shouted… looking around.
*“Relax kid, I just teleported us.” I chuckled.
“Hey, look! I see Sofia, to the left!” F.Chara pointed to the left, and sure enough, their Sofia was. The three of us approached her…
*“Knock knock…” Sofia turned around to see us… “I might be mistaken, but I think this little one belongs to you?” Her eyes widened… I guess we got the right kid after all.
   “So… you're… you're my mom then?” Alice asked…
“Yes… it’s very nice to see you again, Alice.” Sofia was forming tears in her eyes. She knelt down and Alice walked over to her, instantly falling into a hug.
“Sorry if I don’t understand… but she seem so young to be my mother!” Alice admitted.
“It’s okay, I can never forget that face!” Sofia reassured her. She looked at me and F.Chara and mouthed the word “Thank you”... we both nodded in return and teleported away, leaving the two to catch up.
“Well, I’d say that worked out well.” F.Chara smiled.
*“Yes.,.. With that done, I'm overdue for a nap…” I yawned and teleported back to my quarters at the Blacksite.

Chapter 5: The Final Straw
(Jax’s Point of View)

As much as I’d hate to admit it… Sans was right… I really don’t spend as much time as I could with Kayla… that's why I went ahead and got us a reservation at the nearby restaurant in Springfield. No mall, no crowded laser tag field… no big city. Just a quiet town in a decent place to relax and enjoy a meal together…. What could go wrong, eh? (But ya know… based on the chapter title… you know something is gonna go wrong.) regardless, I walked back into my quarters and told Kayla the news.
“Really…? You wanna try taking me out again…?” Kayla almost looked confused about it.
“Of course… don’t worry, it’s a rather quiet town, no big city or crowded malls like last time.” I reassured her. She still looked nerves, but shrugged and agreed in the end. We entered the city and made our way to the restaurant I picked out. Kayla took a deep breath… I know she’s not really good with public outings like this, but I hope for once we can get through a day without it going to shit.
We entered and found the set I booked, right next to the window, near the entrance. A couple minutes passed and someone brought us our menus
“Jezz… what am I even gonna get?” Kayla started at the menu… “Been forever since I had something other than Viper, honestly.” She added.
“Never hurts to mix it up, ya know.” I offered. Kayla rolled her eyes and laid her menu down.
“Why did you really want to bring me here?” Kayla asked.
“What do you mean? I can't hang out with you all of a sudden?” I sounded a little offended.
“Yeah but after all this time, nothing worked out… why do you bother?” Kayla asked agan. I sighed.
“Just because you're different doesn't mean you don’t deserve a proper afternoon out. Besides, Sans really wanted to take a break ever since the death of Jet.” I admitted.
“Yes, I heard about that… I hope you know that I honestly don’t care for that.” Kayla spun her fork between her fingers.
“It feels like everyone I talk to doesn't give a shit… but I hope you understand he was my last family I ever had.” I countered. Kayla shrugged and the waiter walked over. Be both ended up ordering a burger each… at least this place still uses real meat, unlike the Advent restaurants. I couldn't help but notice Kayla constantly looking around, like something was gonna jump out at her… all this was starting to make me nervous too. Finally, our food arrived and I started digging in. Kayla just kinda observed it…
“I promise you they use real meat here.” I figured she was trying to figure out if it was processed or not.
“It’s not that…” Kayla replied… but that’s all she said. No idea what she meant by that, but I learned not to question her too much. Finally, she ended up taking a bite.
   “Hummm… seems a little off…” Kayla admitted.
   “Yeah, what’s up?” I asked.
“I can’t put my finger on it….” Kayla repeated. I shrugged… everyone has those days I guess. Then her face suddenly appeared sour… without saying a word, she threw the food back onto the plate.
   “Okay now what?” I sighed.
“The proportions are all wrong! Come on, you have to admit I could make a better sandwich using just Viper!” Kayla half shouted… yep, here we go… Kayla ends up finding a way to even ruin food.
“To be fair, not everyone eats the Vipers… and not everyone cooks the exact same way you do.” I tried to calm her down… at this point we started getting weird looks from the others.
“But everyone should still have a set standard!” Kayla refused to get up.
“Is there a problem?” Our waiter walked up.
“Yeah, you're food sucks!” Kayla spat in his face.
“Okay, what that necessary?” I started getting a little pissed off myself.
“Not you too!” Kayla waved me off. I don’t know what hit me, but I stood up, slamming my hands down on the table.
“Can’t you just act normal for once!!??” I yessed… louder than what I expected that to come out. Kayla froze… holding her head down…
“Maybe you shou-” The waiter was about to try to calm her down… but made a mistake. Once again, Kayla lashed out, but I had no idea she still had her sword with her… the shoved the waiter to the floor and drew her Sword, pointing it at his chest.
“Anyone so much as breathe differently someone is getting speared!” Kayla was mad with bloodlust again. Sinking into my seat, I pulled out my phone and sent an SOS text to F.Sans… pretty much the first one I managed to pull up fastest. Thankfully, Kayla was too… preoccupied to notice. Moments later F.Sans appeared right in front of us.
   *“What the?” F.Sans facepalmed.
“Whara re yo-” Kayla was cut off by F.Sans teleporting the three of us back to the Blacksite. As soon as we were back, Kayla steathed her sword and stormed up to me.
“Why did you call him!?” Kayla screamed in my face.
“Because you were gonna kill someone you maniac!!!” I shouted back, almost twice as loud.
“Not my fault they don't know how to cook!!” Kayla crossed her arms.
“That does not give you the right to threaten everyone!!!” I snapped. Kayla was about to make some other bullshit excuse when she was cut off by the sound SNAP of my hand across her face… “I am sick and tired of you're fucking “woe is me” bullshit! All you do is mope around and take your anger out on others! All I wanted was one good date, but you're making it impossible!!!!” I could feel my eyes burning the determination I injected myself with so many months ago. Kayla was speechless… she ran into the trees…
“That’s… not what I meant by taking a break…” I could hear C.Sans behind me… I rolled my eyes and walked into my quarters, smalling the door behind me.
