Thought it might be fun to do a simple character age progression for Roarey XP. So here it is.
Bit of background information on these piccies.
Infant: Perpetually crying, a small wonder his parents didn't disguise murder as cot death.
Young child (5-6): Pretended he had special powers and wanted to be Superman. Never went anywhere without his favourite two plushies, one of which is a squirrel hand puppet. The squirrel was bought by his dad at a petrol/gas station on the day of his birth. Also believed E.T. was real and lived in the house with him, although the film was terrifying.
Pre-teen (8-10): Was taught to read at 3 years old, but at this age finally buried himself in books, especially encyclopedias. Also fantasized about Tails from Sonic the Hedgehog cartoons and lay awake at night wishing he'd fly in through his bedroom window. Sometimes wore orange pyjamas to compliment his fascination with the character. A reasonably happy and nerdy kid, bullied for it but escaped often in books and video games, along with making slides of insects and looking at them under a microscope.
Early teens (14-16): Damaged and depressed following parents divorce, bullying and a few disasterous and traumatizing relationships between his mother and the men who used her during a time of vulnerability. One of the men was a violent psychopathic individual. Being unhappy with his looks and his life and seeing no potential change in circumstances, spent most of his time escaping with games and movies to avoid suicidal thoughts. School life suffered as a result.
Young adult (23-25): A little jaded and prone to looking pissed off but far wiser than his younger years. Equipped with a better ability to cope with the shit life can fling around. Capable of great emotional strength when others need him but wears down over the long term and can be prone to despair and thoughts of death. Despite these things he still considers himself an optimist and tries his best to see the good in the world, taking up his childhood habit of reading books to aquire more knowledge. Traumatic experiences at school have made him too anxious when it comes to academic work but he functions fine when he doesn't have to meet targets, making private study outside of academic institutions much easier. Considered a career in social services but doesn't think it wise to pursue it until he learns to take care of his own issues first. Probably wouldn't have made it this far without his boyfriend and cigarettes.
