It was a normal day at Bowser's castle... or as normal as things could go...
Bowser was out and about and left his kids home alone with Iggy and Lemmy in charge. It wasn't going too well as the other children were doing whatever they wanted anyway.
Lemmy shouted, "GUYS! Come on!! Just act right for once!!"
Iggy added, "Yeah! Dad said he'll be back and we're already at five broken windows and missing a few Koopa Troopas!"
Ludwig said, "They are not missing." He waved his wand at a Koopa Troopa, who then turned into a Goomba, "They are just disguised! Hahaha!!"
Iggy said, "That's cool and funny and all but seriously, we gotta knock it off!"
Wendy added, "Yeah, besides, change them into something useful, like Hammer Brothers."
Roy came in and added, "Or some chefs. Man, I'm starvin'!"
Lemmy said, "Maybe if you act right, you'll get what you want!"
Roy glared at Lemmy through his sunglasses, "Listen squirt, just because Dad put you two dweebs in charge, doesn't mean we gotta listen to you."
Iggy said, "Uh, yes it does mean that, smarty pants!"
Roy huffed, "And why YOU two? Why not me? I'm the strongest one of all of you!"
"And the loudest." Wendy said.
Roy shot a look at her, "Oh go back to making a Kootie Pie."
Wendy rolled her eyes, "Kooties? Really? HOW old are you??" She shook her head and rolled her eyes, "You're just as bad as Ludwig."
"Uh, excuse me?" Ludwig looked at Wendy.
Wendy smirked, "Oh please, like THAT'S news to you. With all these weird experiments you do? You're like King Kooky."
"Hmph, SOME would appreciate my genius." Ludwig looked at Morton, "Like Morton here. He enjoys my experiments."
Morton nodded, "Yeah, experiments fun!"
Roy chuckled, "Congrats. Your number one fan has the brain of a caveman."
Morton didn't responded right away... it took a few seconds and he looked angry, "HEY!"
Roy shrugged, "I rather his caveman talk then him being a Big Mouth. We got enough of those." He shoot a look at Wendy.
Ludwig huffed, "Anyway, I at least I play fair! Unlike Larry here!"
Larry looked at the arguing group, "What?? Why bring me in this!"
Ludwig crossed his arms, "Oh admit it Larry, if you can't win anything, you turn into a Cheasty cheater."
Larry stomped his foot once, "Hey! Dad said do whatever it takes to win!"
Roy interrupted, "ANYWAY!"He looked at Lemmy and Iggy and huffed, "The reward for most annoying goes to these two. Nothing was more satisfying than when Dad smashed their boom boxes for playing that dumb Hip Hop music all day."
Lemmy gasped, "What?? Hip Hop was-"
"And IS great! Lay off!" Iggy finished.
Lemmy shouted, "Stop being such a Bully, Roy!"
Roy stood in front of Lemmy, "Why Dad even put you in charge? We need someone not smaller than a Koopa Troopa." He leaned in and gave Lemmy a hard stare, "No one in this room will take you serious, you little bug."
Lemmy clenched his hands into fists and felt something in him growing...
Roy continued to speak, "We need a leader we can respect, not give wedgies too!"
Lemmy grew hotter the more Roy talked... his teeth were seen as he started to shake.
Roy kept on, "Dad might have done this to see just how bad of a job you two will do."
That was it, Lemmy reacted... with a punch to Roy's cheek!
This shocked everyone.
Roy's glasses came off and crackled when they hit the ground. He paused... then looked at Lemmy with an angry look in his revealed eyes, "Oh, you are so DEAD!!" He delivered a punch to Lemmy on the chest.
Lemmy flew back a few meters, landing on his rump. He groaned in pain and inhaled through his teeth. He sat up and saw nothing but red when looking at the smirking Roy. He got up and yelled out as he came in for another punch.
Roy laughed as he easily caught each punch Lemmy gave with his palms, "You can only get one punch in and THAT was a sucker punch! Pathetic!" He gave a powerful punch to Lemmy's chest again; this time, sending him further away.
Lemmy cried out in pain as he flew back again.
Iggy came in, "Roy! Lay off!" He came in from behind to hold his arms behind him.
Roy huffed and used his strength to break free of Iggy's grasp. He then put Iggy in a headlock, "Please, this is a test to see why Dad was wrong in giving you two leader rights."
Wendy spoke up, "Yeah, we need to follow a big meathead like you for a leader."
Roy looked at her, "Watch it or you're next."
Unfazed, she smirked and rolled her eyes, "Wanting to fight a lady. Barbaric."
Lemmy was starting to cry from how angry and saddened he was, but before anyone saw, he withdrew into his shell and spun around to attack Roy.
Roy pushed Iggy away before Lemmy came too close. Roy jumped up and landed on Lemmy's shell, causing him to have to reveal himself, in which Roy stomped the back of his head, "Yeah, some leader you are two are."
Lemmy tried to get up but to not avail. His tears were going down his face now.
"ENOUGH!!!"
A booming voice alerted all of them. It was Bowser.
The kids all looked towards his direction.
Bowser spoke again in his booming voice, "Go to your rooms. NOW."
They did just that: Roy was the last to move, then that left Iggy and Lemmy there.
"Except you two." Bowser said, meaning Lemmy and Iggy, "Follow me." He walked towards his throne room.
With their heads low, Lemmy and Iggy followed their father to his room. As if today couldn't get worse, now their father was going to let them have it for not keeping their siblings under control.
Now they were in his throne room. He shut the door behind them and went to his throne to sit. He saw both of them still looking at the ground. "Now, explain what happened."
Iggy spoke up, "It's nothing, Dad! They were just being... them! You know how it is."
Bowser looked at Lemmy, "Why was Roy fighting you, Lemmy?"
Iggy looked over and saw Lemmy still looking emotionally hurt. He spoke up for him, "Oh they were just rough housing, Dad! No ne-"
"Iggy HUSH!! I was speaking to Lemmy!!"
Iggy shuddered and put his hands behind him as he looked down, "S-Sorry..."
Bowser spoke again, "Lemmy?"
Lemmy let it out, "Roy's right! We stink as leaders!!" He shut his eyes and heavier tears rolled down his face. "If our own brothers and sister won't listen to us... then what hope do we have in controlling this entire castle?!" His speech was weak and cracked up since he was crying.
Iggy looked so concerned for his twin brother, "Lemmy..."
Bowser looked unaffected at first... then smiled, "You think I ruled this kingdom in one day, son?"
Lemmy and Iggy both looked up at Bowser.
Bowser stood up and walked to the window of his room, "Running a kingdom is no easy task. All I ask is that you do your best."
Lemmy continued to cry and shout, "Then why do they team up on us?! No one dove in to help, other than Iggy!!"
"That's their way to show love, Lemmy. As hard as it is to believe that. Roy's like me and want you to do your best. You can't let him intimidate you."
Iggy had to add, "He did sock Roy in the face." He cackled.
Bowser chuckled and looked at the two, "Oh yeah? I should have seen that."
Lemmy still didn't crack a smile. He instead looked away. "I only managed to hit him once..."
Bowser faced them again before he continued, "The others didn't bother helping you because they're all want to see what you're capable of without help. Like me, they want to see just what you can do when in a bind. Lemmy, Iggy... taking leadership isn't easy but I wouldn't have given you two this responsibility if I didn't believe in you."
The two brothers listened in carefully...
Bowser stepped closer to them as he spoke up, "My minions? They all follow me because they believe in me, even after my fails. Sure, some have betrayed me and left... some even work with that darn plumber..." He closed his eyes and clenched one powerful hand into a fist. It still angered him when thinking of the ones he used to call 'family' working for the enemy... but he regained himself to finish speaking with his sons, "But I keep on going, no matter what. I can't show a single ounce of weakness. I have to stay strong... and not just for them. I do it for my kids as well."
Iggy and Lemmy looked at each other a bit before looking back to their father.
"Taking care of my kids and my minions is a huge job... especially on my own. But I do it anyway. I just hope you guys are paying attention to see how I handle situations. Because I won't be king forever. I'll leave all of this to you kids. And I KNOW you guys would fight over on who would actually be the leader among the leaders and I decided to entrust the two kids that work well together and that's you two, Lemmy and Iggy!"
Hearing that definitely boosted Lemmy and Iggy's spirits. Lemmy even smiled and still wanted to cry, but of happiness on being seen as a leader figure in his father's eyes.
Bowser opened his arms, "Now come here and give your dad a big hug."
Lemmy wiped his tears away with his forearm, "Dad, come on..."
"I mean it. Who's my ballistic boy?"
He looked away and smiled softly, "Me..."
Bowser gave a toothy grin, "I can't hear you!"
Lemmy giggled, "Me! Me!" He then dove into his father's arms to hug him tightly.
Iggy smiled, happy to see his brother not down anymore. He put his hands behind his head, "We'll do our best, Dad! We'll be just like you!"
Bowser said, "No, don't try to be like me. Be you! Try and surpass me!"
Lemmy and Iggy answered together, "Got it!!"
Bowser said, "Now let's go out and eat."
Iggy asked, "With the others?"
Bowser answered, "Nah. They're on punishment. Besides, I know they get jealous when I treat you all differently. Maybe they'll make them behave when I leave." He chuckled.
Iggy cackled, "Wow, that's cold! That's so cool! You're the best dad ever, Dad!"
Lemmy giggled, "Thanks, dad..." He nuzzled his face into his father's chest.
Bowser smirked and patted Lemmy's shell, "Anytime, son." He continued to carry Lemmy while Iggy walked alongside with them.
