Photoshop: is there a better way besides "load images into stack" ?

by
On photoshop CS6 it takes FOREVER to load a bunch of frames into it to make an animation. By contrast, ImageReady - an older program - can do it much much faster.  I'm just wondering why CS6 is so slow compared to an older piece of software and if there's a better way of going about it in CS6.

I use them for making animated avatars btw, in case anybody is wondering :P

Photoshop's terrible for animation, in my experience. Slooooww.

Try Fireworks!

And you're right. It's is pretty slow. I don't know what they were thinking when they coded that thing..

adobe has always been a ram vampire. it drains a lot of resources, translating in slow upload, save and load speeds, is a tipical thing form adobe software, specially photoshop.

Maybe they make it hog so many resources so they can justify the price tag XD

not a bad theory..very plausible.....i work on ps cs3..and sometimes i ust have to close any other application just to let photoshop work faster.....
