Feelin Down

I don't like coming to Tumblr anymore.
Everyday, I see posts from my favorite artists and friends, who all do the pony stuff. And its all amazing, all of it, even the sketch art. And then I look at mine. Terrible.
Sometimes, I just feel like giving up. Sometimes, it just feels like I'm not improving, not learning. I advanced so much in November and December, and now I feel like I've gone backwards again. At least I know this is what most people feel like, just got to keep moving forward.
But does it have to be so hard?

I think your way better than me and I sketch each day. Sure there is some big names floating on tumblr, but they started somewhere. There is always room for improvement. Like that coldblooded twilight fellow said " treating it like a rpg and grinding my skill by cranking out more and more drawings. Best advice i've seen so far besides bob ross the joys of painting.

improveing on your skills isn't easy and is a fact im learning now just trying to get an eye for making my own art. true its not easy but trying time and time again is how you improve. iv felt that way at lest a dozen  times now but in time its payed off so keep trying and you'll  1up your skills with time. since starting two months ago drawing for me theirs no better feeling then seeing your skills  improve. ^^_

Why are you comparing yourself to others? Dont compare yourself. Instead try to see them as milestones. That way you can use people you "think" are better at you, to boost your own drawing skill.

You have fans who are watching you because we enjoy your art. Just keep doing what you enjoy doing.

I'm no artist but i do know this. Just because you think people are better than you. Doesn't mean they are. Take it from an outcast. I've lived my life as second best to nearly everyone only to find out i was the better at that task later in life. Keep up the battle and never give in my Furry Friend. :3

Pfft, I still drool over 99% of your stuff and pinkie vibrate waiting for more :p I like your style a lot. Though that said you should always strive to improve, no matter how much you like or dislike your work. Try a few random tutorials on DA for a new style, just to flex the artistic muscles. Then draw more spike getting pounded as a warmup because that's always fun to look at :p

And bear in mind...like, almost every artist in existence looks at their work and hates it. Its true. Go read blog posts and tumblers, so very very many of them pretty much saying what you just did. But just because there are lots of good artists out there doesn't mean you are a bad one. Your quite good too. There are ones better out there, but you also know nothing about them. A fair number have probably been doing this 30, 40 years. Some do it for a living as animators forced to draw thousands of pictures again and again; or for galleries and the like. Of course they are good with that much experience. That shouldn't discourage you from doing it yourself, your not in a competition against them.

Personally, your one of the artists I immediately search for to see if you've updated when I log on ink bunny. Take that as you will.

Your sketches are way better than what I can do. Heck, I can't even draw, I'm a writer. I'll probably never get more than 7 followers with that.

Sadly yes, but, it makes overcomming it so much more worth it~
You'll always come to a point where you don't seem to improve at all, which might be the best time to try new ways and whatnot

Your art is very good don't get discourage. If you really wanna get better, then just keep drawing and you will. Everything is hard, your not alone in that.
