if someone reniggs on a contract, does that make them a nigger ?

PS. no, I'm not racist. I just found the similarity between the way the words sound extremely funny ^^; Pleez do not take a fence.

Woah, I wasn't gonna go there but...dayum sun! Such a potty mouth!

I happen to like engoolosh! Er, most of the time anyway. But I still think French sounds sexy no matter what they're actually saying lol!

oh actually,,french is the complete opposite of "pottymouthness" as a language..infact,even te harshest and most invadently rough of offrences woudl sound actually quite cute and polite somehow in said language.i cannot explain why but it is such a thing O.o

I think it's something to do with the phonetics...and how they're used.
A lot of harsh words in English use these..."hard" kind of sounds...
But I notice that in French there's a ton of "z" sounds and "leigh" and "ooooooh" and "zeet"
XD I know absolutely NOTHING about French except for how it sounds. And without all that meaning, it sure sounds pretty ^^

Closer, but... I thought it was "renege"? Lemme double check...

http://dictionary.reference.com/browse/renege

Apparently "renegue" is also an accepted spelling. Go figure!
Norithics

Yeah, typo.
Alfador

I tend to not assume "typo" or "dumb", but rather assume "one of us knows the wrong spelling, quick research time!" And sometimes I find out that both spellings are acceptable, eg. "alright" vs. "allright".

Research is never the wrong answer!

......I don't know whether to be amused by the fact that me, nor anyone I know is not insulted, or offended because I have no idea what the hell you're talking about.
Whippy

No offense meant. I just hear the word reneg pronounced all the time as "renigg", and well...it's not a very far jump to make those connections between words. I found it very funny. It made it  sound more like a verb than a noun.
Meanie108

I don't care for the meaning of the word! I've gone past such a stupid thing! It's how weird the word is itself.
Whippy
5 years, 9 months ago
Yeah, it is a pretty strange word.

Don't be too embarassed if English messes with your head.
Thanks to its promiscuous past, it's the most difficult and messiest European language.

No, but if someone reneges on a contract it may mean they are niggardly. Niggardly means parsimonious or cheap, and has no relation to the racial epithet.
Whippy
5 years, 9 months ago
Now that's more like it ^_^

Hehehe, a niggler is a fault finder or someone who gets caught up in petty details. To niggle is to cause trivial, but continuous annoyance (try saying the word in a child's voice, lol). A niggard is a stingy person. None of these words is about black people, or has relation to "the" N word..
The moar you know, lol.
