I was watching an episode of Filmation's Ghostbusters that featured the character in my avatar right now: Belfry Bat. At the end of the episode, he talks about being able to accept things as they are and making life more beautiful. You can download a clip I made of it here. I usually expect those types of clips to talk about not playing with matches or always doing what your parents tell you to do. But...this one sounded very..zen like and philosophical
Acceptance means not judging something as good or bad. This article called "the elements of living lightly" explains this in better detail than my tired brain can at this moment ^///^ There is one quote that keeps snagging me though, but seems like something really fun to practice.
“Whatever the present moment contains, accept it as if you had chosen it.” ~Eckhart Tolle
Could you imagine doing that? To me, it feels very difficult but still possible. And in an odd way, what Belfry was talking about echoes that...accepting the present moment.
