Gumroad has just changed their terms of service, so this content will no longer be able to be sold on the platform. I am disabling new purchases in the hopes that they will allow you to continue to access the content, but it is possible that they'll start deleting products.
Please save any content from the platform that you want in case it becomes inaccessible.
My plan is to transition over to SubscribeStar, though that will take a little while.
I will try to keep this journal on Inkbunny open to keep communication open.
If you have any questions, please comment or PM me here.
Edit: 2024-03-16 Current idea: My current thought is to go entirely to the subscription model purely for early access (maybe a month delay for the releases?), which would mean less maintenance for releases for me and more free content for everyone else. This is definitely the right time to make a change, but I'd like to hear your thoughts or suggestions.
Edit: 2024-03-17 Current status: Not setup yet. Testing payout functionality of SubscribeStar to make sure it all works first.
Edit: 2024-03-18 The Gumroad subscription had to be deleted to prevent future payments as there was no other way to disable it. Still waiting to confirm whether the payout functionality of SubscribeStar works.
Edit: 2024-03-23 The SubscribeStar payouts are working! I am now starting the process of moving over.

I agree with this personally. This just sounds like a win/win all around.
What reasons would you not want to do it this way?

Thanks! I think the only reason to not do is would be if enough people felt like they are cheated because now everyone can access the content, but considering the pricing and the good community, I don't think that is likely. The second reason is if someone thinks up an even better way.

Personally, I don't buy stuff from people unless I've discovered them through free stuff. I pay to support what I like. I'm not paying for stuff I've never seen.

i had contact with their support and they assured me content previously bought would remain accessible, they are just no longer allowed by paypal and stripe to make any new sales

I've bought almost all of your work. I love it ♥ Myself, I won't have any problem with your stuff being published freely for everyone. But instead of heading to another service, why don't you sell your stuff on the website you're already running?
Offtopic hint: some updates that were uploaded to gumroad are missing on your website.

I bought your work via Gumroad. Will i still get updates there? And if not, do I have to buy it on subscribestar again or is there any way to transfer the subscription (e.g. The content being manually unlocked for my account).. If not, it wouldnt be a disasters as you plan on transitioning to purely early acces for subscribers, so i'd still get everything, just 4 weeks later. But on the other hand, i paid for the whole comic until it is finished..

The subscription is entirely moved over, but for the one-time purchase products, yeah, I should still be able to release updates on Gumroad from what I can tell.
