And you know what? I liked it. I still think it was a wholly unnecessary reboot and there was no reason it couldn't have been a Spider-Man 4, but, all of that stuff aside, it was actually very good. I didn't quite like Andrew Garfield as Peter Parker... but as Spider-Man he was fantastic! The scene with him confronting the car thief alone was worth the price of admission. And after waiting nearly ten years for a Spider-Man film with the Lizard as the villain... I was not disappointed. Reboot or not, Curtis Connors/The Lizard in this was fantastic. It kept the previous films' tradition of have the main antagonist be a basically good man tragically become a villain by forces outside of his control. I'd say more but I'd be spoiling things, but there are many heartbreaking moments with Curtis. And aside from one thing, the movie had a fantastic ending. I have a few nerd-tastic complaints but overall, wow, what a ride. And Martin Sheen as Ben Parker and Denis Leary as George Stacy? Fucking awesome!
