For about two weeks now my iPad has been slowly flaking out more and more. Having used it consistently for nearly three years for games, email, surfing, music, movies, and my undo/redo style of drawing I have to say this little guy has been a beast. However, as I progress in my drawing and as time ticks by I have found that the length of time between crashes is thinning to the point that they have become extremely predictable.
Thus I have endeavored to return to a once previously forgotten goal; the acquisition of a Wacom Cintiq. This time, though, I shall not be attempting to acquire the 21 UX, but instead will be going for the 12 WX which is slightly cheaper and maintains a drawing area roughly one inch larger than the whole of my iPad.
Though I could run out and buy one today this is something I'm keeping separate from my regular finances. If all goes well I should be able to acquire the Cintiq within one or two months, three at most. Until then I shall continue to draw on my iPad. If the little guy survives until its replacement I will continue to use it for basic sketch ideas and everyday things like email and such, but not for the larger works or more detailed sketches.
For now I will continue as always, but in the future my images may no longer be finished on my iPad or drawn with my digits.
