Misinterpretation

I’ve been blocked by a number of accounts, (mostly people who draw Cream oddly enough), and, clearly, I don’t have any posts of my own (yet?) so the only reason I can think of is that they blocked me because of comments I’ve made on their art. So with that in mind, what do I comment?

Granted I am a self-taught artist, but I don’t really draw that often, and when I do I don’t draw NSFW. I don’t think I’d be very good at it. But that said, I do know what I like and I (sort of) know why I like it. When I comment on posts on inkbunny, most of the time I am commenting with the intent to give constructive criticism. And I’m realizing just recently that my “constructive criticisms” may have been misinterpreted a number of times. I will admit, sometimes I don’t always have the nicest things to say, I’m not a perfect person. And I just wanted to make this post to make it clear to people in the future, if they think I’m trolling or being toxic, that they can at least see my humility here and maybe just talk things out with me. I don’t like being blocked by artists, especially really good artists like servedasiS and I would like to avoid that in the future if possible.

Personally, I enjoy this website because it’s more versatile than just your average Booru site. Things like the Favorite system and the variety of ways that you can sort and filter content when you’re searching really make it fun to be a viewer. I like searching through my Favorites, and tweaking it. I love finding new artists that change what I thought was my favorite post, and I yes, I like Sonic characters getting’ naked and doing weird stuff. That might not be everybody’s cup of tea. I know most people just have an inkbunny account so they can have access to all the sexy stuff that isn’t visible to Guests, and maybe sometimes they comment on a post to say, “Wow, that picture of Bowser pooping on Mario really made me cum hard. Thank you kindly for this image.” But for me I really just like seeing new art that challenges me. Most of the time I don’t even fap to it.

I don’t really have anything else to say here, so I’d just like to shout out a couple of notable artists that I like and have less than 300 Followers, in no particular order.

PricklyPudding is really good if you’re a fan of Sonadow (like most people) but they have a style that is a lot more on-model, and for me personally I don’t like a lot of muscularity and voluptuousness, I just like the characters to look like they do in the video game more or less and PricklyPudding absolutely delivers on that front. I would have said their biggest flaw is expressions, but honestly they have gotten good at it recently and I can’t wait to see what they draw next!

321pietime is really smart when it comes to composition, which gives them an edge over lots of inkbunny artists. There’s a very good sense of place to the way their characters interact with the environment like Mighty holding a drawing tablet (for example) and it just makes the piece that much more immersive. They also just started taking commissions a week ago, so please give them some love.

Artcato draws mostly Sonuckles, but also has Mephilver which is pretty unique, their art is very expressive, my only complaint is that they don’t post more often; which is probably just a sign that I like them quite a bit. But really, their last post was over a year ago and I do hope they’re safe and happy.

I wish everyone success in their artistic endeavors, and thanks for scrolling all the way to the bottom of this post. Really shows you care!

It's fine to dislike people's art or notice mistakes, but there's no real reason to voice those opinions to said artists. For example, a comment from you: "This artist has drawn way better". How is that constructive? Your intent may be good, but it's coming across as just plain negativity. An opinion doesn't always need to be heard. Simply don't fave an image and move on. It isn't that difficult.

Is it other people misinterpreting your words, or are you expressing yourself poorly? It's never easy to admit your own flaws, but maybe you should reassess what you type before you post, and ask yourself: Is this helpful, or am I just voicing my dislike and/or complaining? I can almost guarantee that learning a bit of empathy, a bit of "how am I coming across?" will improve your overall conduct.

Alternatively, you can decide to just fave/enjoy art without commenting at all. It's the safest option, if not the most engaging.

Anywho, just my 2 cents. Take care.

Don't bother, they don't listen to criticism, which it's ironic because they criticize everybody
