Ever feel like your artwork is overlooked?

I do.  I mean.. this site is nice and all.. but with all the porn, cub art, and more popular work.. mine gets thrown to the side -very- quickly.

I keep telling myself that I REFUSE to lower my standards and draw smut just to get attention.

So I'll keep pluggin my work here.. but I won't have any high hopes of any feedback. *I stick with dA for that*

It's all good.  I don't expect anything special on my side either.  Most artists have a main site to use and other sites on the side so that everyone can see in case they get banned from one of the sites. *points to self* :P

Don't let the prevalence of cub, porn, and cub porn dim your hopes, candlefriend.  Think of it like being Star Trek on its original NBC run.  Trek was a solid third in the ratings for three years, and NBC decided to pull the plug.  One Tsunami of fan mail later, Trek got one more season, and today, nobody even remembers the shows that beat Trek in the ratings back then.

What I'm saying is that it's the QUALITY of your friends and fans that matter, not the quantity.  You're a great artist, and a wonderful personality, your fans will follow you no matter what you do.  Rauchy McCubporn will only have his fans flee once he decides to switch to 'clean' art.  The porn artist are all burning bright and fast, but they won't burn long, and when their lights go out, yours will still be a shining beacon of glory for ages to come.

I actually know exactly how you feel. And since I opened up to doing porn, I've found I make more money from commissions...However there is the feeling of literally whoring yourself and your character out to do so. I respect your refraining from doing that. Sometimes I feel bad that I did...Unfortunately I need the money, and I'm in too deep to back out now. :P

You have my full support, for what it's worth.
