Went to the eye doctor yesterday for a long overdue checkup. Got my eyes dilated. Yikes. Wasn't fun. Wasn't horrible, either, but still not fun. Anyway, my eyes are fine, said the doctor, but I need stronger lenses. Since they were having a $100 off deal or something that day, I got to pick out some new frames.
I've always detested the "in style" smallish frames and miss the older style glasses with larger frames and lenses, so I picked out a slightly "90's retro" looking pair with a double bridge and gold frames. They have tortoiseshell design on the bit covering the arms, but I really don't care. So anyway I picked those puppies out. They were $169 and with the $100 off deal I only had to pay $69 plus the fee for the new lenses. Hooray! The lady said they ought to be ready in a week or so.
After that, we swung by the drug store, and let me tell you, thank God for my clip-on flip-up sunglasses, 'cause with my eyes dilated, hot damn, going outside would've blinded me otherwise. And after that, we came home, and I chatted with SN a bit on AIM and told him about my dilated eyes and then promptly went and fell asleep to sleep off the effects of the eye dilation.
Later today, I have a dentist's appointment to get my teeth drilled for a couple of cavities. Yech. Not fun. And next week I have an appointment with my psychologist, my family physician Jim and then Dr. Feldman, my psychiatrist. May, it seems, is going to be much like March in terms of all the doctors Koosh will be seeing.
